Wow! I have such major respect for your paintings, Illoman! I can always imagine the great amount of love you put into your art, because it shines through   :)

Yeah, the love. And the paint thinner fumes.  ;D

Funny you should say that....LOL!!! Sometimes when the dreaded artistic block descends upon me, one good whiff of turpentine is all I need to clear my head!

Top shelf, Mike! Congrats on another masterpiece...Talented people, such as yourself help keep the magic of Forry alive in our hearts.

Just finished up these bad boys! I am putting the finishing touches on my Monster Room / Theater in my house and I am having a custom entertainment unit made for my TV and game systems and the whole thing is Universal Monsters inspired. So I made the decorative corbel shelf supports for it. There are 4 of them in total I still have Frankenstein and Wolfman to finish up. These are going underneath a big half-round shelf...

More pics to come soon as the project gets wrapped up!

Illoman

Greg, those are stunning!!! How did you make them?

Now that is really nice!  Great job & concept!

I had the carpenter I am working with carve the basic support out of solid wood. Then I used parts from the vinyl Horizon model kits (i.e. the head and hands basically) then I reposed them and re-sculpted the rest of them (I didn't have a ton of time on these so sculpting likenesses from scratch was out of the question since that is the majorly time consuming part!) Then I sculpted the stone sides and the small bases underneath them using Aves apoxie sculpt then painted them using Chromatone brand warm silver. Chromaton is hands down the best metallic paint on the market! You pay for it though! It runs about 40 bucks for a quart of it! Then I did some aging washes on it and voila! I'm going to finish up Frankenstein and Wolfman tonight and I'll post up pics of those as soon as they are done!

I hoping to have the whole thing done and installed by the end of the week. Once it's done I'll post pictures of it!

That is simply WICKED!!!

Hey Greg, are the walls faux paint, or is that a textured panel??
We're all here because we're not all there.

Neither! The walls are a cement like material that gets applied in  layers then textured then painted. That room is still in  the works, as soon as it's done I'm going to post pictures of that up too. That is the new "Hobby Room" or I guess Monster Room #2 in the house haha. Right above the work bench where I shot these photos is the home for the Aurora stained glass! They are set into the wall in gothic shaped "windows" and are back-lit. They look very cool up there! Just got the last piece of glass installed in the model display cases so tomorrow I am going to put up the shelves and unpack the models and then I can post up pictures of the whole room completed! Here it is in the works...

Heres a shot of me painting it...

And this is a shot of me and the rest of the crow working on the room...

It's not the cheapest process but the results are unmatched! It looks like real stone! Feel like it too... I guess 'cuz it kinda is! Haha! Each individual block is applied and textured and carved by hand!
