Hey guys and gals......Whatayaknow! I got a personal message from the daughter of Bill Campbell today! And got it by way of personal message from UMA!  She says Mr. Campbell is 91 and still going strong! She had seen the Christmas drawing he had done for me several years ago. I have it posted on this or some other UMA thread........Buddy

How cool is THAT?!?! Hey Buddy, did you know that BC is selling art prints of his designs that never made it to production?? Check it out........."awesome" seems an appropriate adjective here.

MDG, could you possibly post a pic of that "Skurfer King" Pin-Up Jig-Saw Puzzle that's in the background of your pic that has the Captain Kangaroo cup in it (I have that same cup in pink, got it when i was a kid)

A shame they didn't add the simple decals to the reissue kits (to my knowlege) I still have an original street sign from a junk lot "Podunk Holler Drag Strip"...classic!

Goon Guts

MDG, THANKS very much for that picture of Skurfer King!!
I never even heard of this one before....were there others?

MDG

I don't know--I picked it up off of ebay 10 or more years ago. No idea if there are US versions of this, or if it was part of a series.

That is awesome! You have real sculpting talent. And your video making skills are pretty impressive as well!

Thanks Hepcat!  I had a blast making it.  I plan on making several more, just need to get alittle more set up and organized.

Morbidious,

I love the sculpt.  And noticed some of your other work in the background of the video.  Good stuff.

With Super-Sculpy...what kind of finish do you get with that (ceramic, plastic, something else)? Also, how durable is the piece afterwards?  Would it survive a drop to the floor?

Thanks.  Gaberax

(*at*) Gaberax,  Thanks!  with super sculpey, you can achieve a pretty good finish with the right baking and  sanding knowledge and experience. I've seen people achieve a very sheen like finish as well as anything else you could imagine.  I guess it boils down to just jumping in there and gaining the experience for yourself.  As for durability, alot of it depends on what you used for armature material, but as a general rule of thumb, supersculpey would most likely crack or break if dropped on the floor (depends on how big or heavy we are talking).  Some items may be more durable than others. This particular piece would most likely break off at the vulnerable points (ei: the horns, fingers, arms, ect...).

VERY COOL! In the vein of Big Daddy, Mouse and the Weird Oh's, but you DEFINITELY have a unique style all your own...LOVE IT!

Thanks so much for your kind words.  I had alot of fun making it.  I plan on making more eventually.
