This is horrible news.  She was only 63.  Still so youthful and vibrant.  The article doesn't say how she died.  She was my favorite Doctor Who companion.  I was so happy to see her back in the spotlight during the last four years.

I just read she died of cancer.  I hate cancer.

I loved Elisabeth Sladen  Sarah Jane Smith character, she was one of the people who made Dr. Who my favorite show.  I loved her spin off show as well.  She brought me years of enjoyment growing up.  Goodbye Elisabeth, say Hi to Hartnell, Troughton, and Pertwee for me.  Rest in Peace.

Very very sad news.  She was the Doctor's companion I grew up with.  She was taken way too soon.

Sarah Jane Smith was my favorite Dr. Who companion. I am so sad to know she is gone.  Bless her.

This is terrible news.  I'm so sad right now.  I loved Doctor Who growing up and especially liked Sarah Jane.  She was wonderful in Sarah Jane Adventures. This is such a huge loss.  Elizabeth had a lovely daughter as well.

She left us way too soon.

I am very sad to hear this too.  Elisabeth Sladen was my favorite Doctor's companion also.

She had that sort of decent girl nextdoor quality, a very friendly presence on film; and I couldn't help thinking that the likability of the character was something that came from the person herself.
Beautiful moving, shifting colors!
