I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

My wife, daughter and mother in law were gone for the weekend. So I lived on man food and monster movies all weekend.

- The Ghost of Frankenstein (always alot of fun to watch. Not the best, but fun)

- El Vampiro 1957 (German Robles and crew turn out a good vampire tale in the 30/40's style)

- DRACULA (my favorite Universal)

- Frankenstein (my second favorite Universal)
"For one who has lived but a single lifetime, you are a wise man ...Van Helsing."
"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."

Count Dracula(1970)
The Devil's Nightmare(1971)
Hellboy(2004)
DARK SHADOWS:

David Collins: "Dead people dont just get up and walk around.."

Sarah Collins: "Sometimes they do."

the Ghost and Mr Chicken (not bad)
The Brain From Outer Space

Cronos-One of the best movies about a vampire that I have ever seen. Guillermo Del Toro is by far the best monster movie director of all time. He really knows his buisness. Can't wait to start the Devils Backbone.
Just remember. There are such things.

Had a wicked sinus headache this morning and wound up staying home. After a few hours, when I could actually open my eyes, I threw "Dracula" (the original) into the DVD player. In recent years I have sometimes made unkind remarks about this film. I still think it has its flaws (the ending is far too anti-climactic and abrupt), but Bela is really a joy to watch. It's a real shame that we did not get him playing Dracula again while he was still relatively young. He has a real fire here, which is sadly lacking in A&CMF, or Return of the Vampire.

Have you seen the re-cut of DRACULA posted on YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=0DBF112DB86255F0

The re-cut puts the scenes in the order specified in the script, and really improves the pace of the film's final half.  Since you've recently seen the release version, you might want to skip ahead to parts 3 through 5.  If you take a look at it, I'd really appreciate hearing what you think.

Memphremagog

One Million B.C.(1940)..with Lon Chaney, Jr. just before he hit the big time over at Universal.
The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad(1974)...A few months before his being cast as DOCTOR WHO, Tom Baker turns in a great performance as he villain in this.
DARK SHADOWS:

David Collins: "Dead people dont just get up and walk around.."

Sarah Collins: "Sometimes they do."

Phantom Stranger

"The Creeping Terror" (1964)
                                  -Vic Savage

Plot: For lack of a better term

A spaceship lands near a small Calif town and a giant walking carpet emerges to eat the local population.

Phantom's Review: This film makes "Plan 9 From Outer Space" seem like "Citizen Kane"
Quite possibly the worst monster movie ever made, so of course ....I Loved It!
Bad from start to finish. A true crap classic.

Village Of The Giants 1965

I've seen that a few times as I have it on DVD. What a fun Schlock fest. Young Ron Howard as a boy genius. Dancing giant duck. Cheesy as hell effects. If anyone likes bad cheesy movies with teens I'd recommend this one.
