That's for sure. It expands all on it's own now

A new update (such as it is). This stage (planning, trying out stuff, adding, subtracting, mixing, matching etc etc etc) is taking a long time especially since I can only work on this in fits and starts. See what you think of the madness that is the Die-orama of miracles (credit for the die-orama part goes to someone else!)

That's a wild diorama. I can't wait to see it done.

Was just thinking about this yesterday wondering how it's coming along!

well, one reason it is taking so long is what we call... scope creep...

which is often the fault of the project customer.

so you need a model of a picky customer in there terrorizing you, robert.

Thanks for looking everyone.  A picky customer would just aggravate me (it's why I could never in a MILLION years own a restaurant). Here is one way I rationalize the project. If I were to build all these kits individually, each with it's own diorama it would take just as long (maybe longer) given the time I have had available to put into it. All that I need is patience and so far I have no problem with that. It's a lot of fun to solve the problems, come up with better stuff, and watch it come together the way I envisioned it OR get a pleasant surprise when I stumble onto something much cooler.
Carving out the time is the most challenging part.  This is almost like the pre production phase. Lots of planning, and putting it together sections at a time, sometimes skipping around to see how it will work in the context of everything (yes believe it or not I have a sort of context in my head for this just don;t ask me to explain it!). I just have to remind myself it's Mad Monster Party x 1000. About to start on the template for the dungeon and the ice cavern. I spend a lot of time following some of the great military and train diorama builders out there to stay inspired too. Once the painting phase arrives it should be a real trip.

That die-orama is going to be fantastic! You need a team to help you with it.

Thanks Kenneth. I agree.....who wants to come out to Brooklyn and get cracking on this with me. I am now laying out the front bottom section, and am pretty happy with the way its going.

It's like the Apollo program of monster dioramas! Very impressive -not only the display itself but the dedication and work put into it. I look forward to seeing it as it evolves! Thanks Robert for posting.

Only 7 new pics of the front/middle/lower section of the diorama. It's still in a very rough stage, but the lay out seems to working so far. Characters in this section are:

    Renfield (Dwight Frye)
Glenn Strange Frankenstein frozen in ice (inside the ice cavern)
Wolfman frozen in ice (inside the ice cavern)
Glenn Strange Frankenstein immobilized in mud/quicksand
Van Sloan-Van Helsing
Lugosi-Dracula
Teenage Frankenstein
Teenage werewolf
Demon from Curse of the demon
Dead alien from Earth vs the Flying Saucers

How do these all go together? That is something that only seeing it in person would probably ever make clear!
