Sorry to hear this. I loved "Barney Miller" also. We played the theme song in high school jazz band!...haven't thought about that for years!

He was a funny guy and one of the highlights of the show.

One of my favorite lines from Barney Miller was when he walked in and said, "Where'd you get the atom bomb?"

Just a sample:
Barney Miller: Dietrich and Yemana discuss... I'm not sure what they're talking about.
" Perhaps he dimly wonders why, there is no other such as I. "

This is really a shame...a real standout performer on the show. Also a wonderful stand up comic. RIP Steve and thanks for all the laughs over the years.
