WOW!!

That Gogos Frankenstein is mind blowing!! I'm glad you put your thumb in the photo because I was having a hard time accepting that that was a bust and not a painting.

LOL I thought the same thing. I guess he has got that before. Nice very nice. HHW

I was fortunate enough to see Jeff Camp's paintwork on that Frankenstein live and in person at Wonderfest.  Pictures can't even do justice to the vivid colors and design.  He showed it to Basil, and he was really impressed, too.
I'd like to have a Glenn Strange mask painted in that style someday.

Thanks everyone, for the kind workds.  ;D
I'm very happy to have found this board. There are so many amazing posts and I'm excited about learing more about the classics.

Those aren't my pics, and I hope the fellow who took them doesn't mind, I don't think he will, but it's one of the coolest paint jobs on a bust I've seen.  I still think if I ever get one of the Howard S busts I'll have it painted more like Dino's, but I love those pics.

That Nosferatu with hands in the plexi case is a Don Post special issue and is exceedingly rare.  The case was part of the package when it was sold originally.  I love how Dino dresses his busts and masks, putting authentic looking clothes and accessories to accentuate them.  He has some amazing stuff, but I think the Chris Lee Dracula is my favorite of all.  Just an incredible piece.

Bobby,
Coming from you, that means a lot.
Yes, the DP Klaus Nosferatu is very rare indeed. It is the holy grail of my collection.
Thank you  and I'm glad you like how I display my pieces.  :)

Those are all amazing, but the Gogos Frankie is just straight up wish fulfillment for me.  To see a creature like that... The ultimate I think.
Shannon aka monsieurmonkey on UMA Y!

The Gogos Frankie is very nice indeed. But I like my busts to be more on the realistic side.

Here's another one of my pieces:

Dr.Terror

Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

When Jeff shared his work at The Clubhouse (a modeling forum) he inspired me to do this--

It's a 1/3 scale bust sculpted by Shawn Nagle, flat on the back and made to be mounted on the wall. I've got it in a deep frame in my office at work. That's not a red light, it's painted that way. I wasn't confident enough to go the full Basil Gogos route with this one, but I may still do that one day.
You knew the job was dangerous when you took it, Fred.

That's really great, Jim.  I just assumed that was a lighting trick...knowing it's painted that way puts it in a new...well, er...light.

Phantasm

Amazing Figure Modeler magazine had an article on painting a Frakie bust in Gogos style.
Very cool and amazing.  I haven't worked up the nerve to give it a try yet.

And I LOVE the Chris Lee Dracula!

Hi Scary Terry. You need to click on the insert image button. After doing so, some imgae brackets will appear in your post. Just paste the image url between those brackets and wha-la!

BTW, you were trying to insert the URL of the Blogger page itself and not the pic properties URL.

Nice paint job by the way!

I can't honestly say I'm a big fan of that Gogos Frankenstein. It's just not my style,  but...still, I don't think I'd rest it on such a small ledge! Please tell me it's really on something more solid and the background is just photoshopped in!  :D
