It's one scary looking monster! The fantastic climax has Kolchak facing the beast with a crossbow.

The Rakshasa is a demon out of Hindu and Buddhist mythologies, not Jewish.  The story did take place in a Jewish neighborhood though.  There were a bunch of swastikas painted around the neighborhood and they were mistaken for something related to Nazis and anti-Semitism, but the swastika is, in fact, an older symbol with other meanings and uses.  It is a great episode.

Trust me!

And a Hindu symbol before that.

That was beyond hard. I went Zombie. But I also loved Primal Scream, The Werewolf, The Sentry, Horror In The Heights, The Trvie Collection(Lara Parker-Yum!).

really? cause last time I checked, they're making a killing of Paleface's money at casinos...

"Beyond hard" is right, I love them all! I went w/The Vampire though. The Zombie & Lara Parker's turn as a witch kicked butt too.

And what's wrong w/a werewolf slaughtering The Love Boat? The only thing better would be having it blasted by Godzilla.

Yeah, a few are at the expense of the rest. Typical.

An office mate of mine made me aware of the Hindu ties.

I picked the werewolf one.  What was the one with the sewer monster or whatever that thing was?

"The Spanish Moss Murders"

I watch all the episodes over and over, including the 2 pilots. I have also really got into the single pilot The Norliss Tapes. It is also a Dan Curtis Production that has a similar, though darker, feeling to it. That would be a great series to have today. Seems everyone want to remake something, that has "remake me" written all over it.
