Price is an Icon of the genre and a great actor but many of his roles have a bit too much haminess in em for my taste. Very tongue in cheek whether intentional or not.

Vincent Price is without a doubt the most versatile actor on that list . . . the sheer volume of his work puts him at the (shrunken) head of the class. He rarely played a "monster" as such but the genre would not be the same without him.
