Ronnie James Dio dead at 67.

Rumors of his death have been circulating all day, but looks like now there is some official info from his wife that he lost the battle to stomach cancer.  RIP Dio.

HOLY CRAP! I'll admit I was never a HUGE fan of the guy but he had a major influence on shaping the metal world. Stomach cancer is a BAD way to go. My mother in law went out like that and it is brutal. Fist held high and thank you for all the great music and influence you had on others. Bro. Damn.

I saw him on Black Sabbath's Heaven and Hell tour. He was a powerful singer. I liked his work with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow.

This is news that really really bummed me out. I have been on such a Rainbow kick lately...I can't believe it.

Rest In Peace to the "Man On The Silver Mountain". A true metal legend and hero....quite possibly one of the most influencial people in heavy music period.

A great, sad loss.
