The stunning blonde actress and singer Dorothy Provine has passed at the age of 75.  She acted in many films and dozens of tv shows, from SUGARFOOT to THE RED SKELTON SHOW, and starred in the series THE ROARING TWENTIES.  Her films include THE GREAT RACE and THE 30-FOOT BRIDE OF CANDY ROCK, and she'll be remembered by fans of MAD MAD MAD MAD WORLD as the wife of luckless Milton Berle and daughter of Ethel Merman, the mother-in-law from hell.

Oh no! She was my favorite when I was a child! I still have my That Darn Cat! movie book and have seen the movie hundreds of times. She was the beautiful role model sister in the movie and I wished I could be her. I was going to marry Roddy McDowall and have a cool siamese cat :(  I'll get my tattered book out today and remember her fondly, she was a class act.

That's truly a shame.  These days 75 is way too young to go.  IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD is one of my favorites.

Bad news! I LOVE Dorthy Provine, always had a crush on her!

We are losing too many each day... But cinema lives forever. Like many of you, Diane and I are big fans of "Mad x4 World" and 'That Darn Cat', what a great childhood memory...   RIP Dorothy

My music is for Phoenix. Only she can sing it. Anyone else who tries, dies.

WOW!  According to my Mom, Dorothy Provine was the first crush I ever had!  She played a girl named "Rocky" in a TV show called THE ALASKANS when I was just 3-4 years old.  My Mom said I used to get embarrassed & run out of the room when I'd see her in that show.  A year or two later, Mom said I started cutting pictures of women's legs out of the newspaper ads & fashion catalogs, including Miss Provine's, and tape them to my bedroom walls.  This was several years before I did the same thing with monster pics (but not just their legs).

R.I.P. Rocky, my love...

Damn! 75 is too young these days, I agree with Rob.

From The Great Race and It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World! to Who's Minding The Mint?... aw, Dorothy. Emphysema? Really?

Hope you're feeling much better now.

Rest in peace.
