Besides his familiar tv series work in '50s vehicles like BACHELOR FATHER and THE JOHN FORSYTHE SHOW, Forsythe starred in the excellent Alfred Hitchcock black comedy, THE TROUBLE WITH HARRY in 1955 and appeared in at least two episodes of ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS.  In the '70s he did some disaster film and quasi-horror work in things like TERROR ON THE 40TH FLOOR, THE DEADLY TOWER, and CRUISE INTO TERROR.  Late in the '70s, he's best remembered for his role on CHARLIE'S ANGELS, and then in the 1980s soaper DYNASTY.  Some animation fans may recall his voice work in the GARGOYLES series.

Forsythe starred in one of the best true crime films ever, "In Cold Blood". A magnificent example of what can be done in black and white cinema. Also, if anyone has doubts about Robert Blake's abilities as an actor, well, it's one of the best screen performances ever to not win an Oscar. Also, Blake is genuinely scary as hell in "Lost Highway."
I'm showing my age as I first remember John Forsythe in "Bachelor Father."

My music is for Phoenix. Only she can sing it. Anyone else who tries, dies.

I just saw "In Cold Blood" last week, and was blown away by it. Cinema at its best. And I also remember re-runs of Bachelor Father".
