This was my favorite as a kid and even now from memory can still pass the "arm hair stands up" test from 11:00 to the end where the goblins laugh and the witches cackle and scream. If you listen carefully, you can hear one of the witches say "fly with me!" You betcha babe!
And for a good laugh is the SFX track of "Scared Parents". Maybe Johnny was playing with a too-hot Thingmaker Creepy Crawlers Dangerous Toy...

I had the album cover printed on a t-shirt thru Walmarts photo center and wore it to Disney World/Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party last September; the only person who noticed it was the actor playing Jack Skellington but he had no idea of its Disney connection.

You're welcome, 60sThru80s.
I had the orange cover version when I was a young'un, but in the last few years I've picked up the others off evilBay. We used to have a blast with these records around Halloween (and really all year 'round since I was a Monsterbrat ).

There are 2 versions of that album, and I'm glad that I had the "white album" (forgive me, Beatles!) as opposed to the orange one. The white set off that wonderful orange window light more starkly. Whoever came up with the orange border version should have been fired for artistic incompetence. >:D

I also like Frankie Stein and His Ghouls- I have all five of their records on vinyl.
These are ALL fantastic records. I have an assortment of vinyl Halloween records (and some on CD and tape!). Have always enjoyed the PURE AUDIO side of monsters and spooks! There is nothing like it.
There's a lot of cool spooky old time radio recordings out there too.

Can I just say this thread is amazing! Really enjoying some of these recordings, most of which are new to me. I don't have much to contribute, but here's a silly, pun-filled interview that appears on the back cover of the Zacherle's Monster Mash LP, which, other than the Wolf Man "I Love You" 45" (one of my fav items in the monster collection, that art is just insane) and a lone Frankie and the Ghouls LP (those goofy things are expensive!!!) is my only true monster record (unless you count hardcore punk and death-rock records with horror themed cover art :D).

Wow! I never knew about that one. My Haunted Mansion was narrated by Robie Lester by herself without Howard. It was the "read along and turn the page at the beep" version. I was too old for it when I asked for it for Christmas, but didn't care. It was a haunted house and it had ghosts in it.

it has a couple of songs on it. The vocals on the song are by Danny Hutton of Three Dog Night.

My friend Rob Kelly and I discussed the Power Records album on the PR podcast, a long with the actual audio. If you've never heard it, it's a surprisingly adult story, but then Power Records wasn't really known for "sanitizing" their material much!

For shame! Digital reproduction doesn't match the lush fullness of vinyl.
:o
Hep, there's a point there. But...
1. Uncompressed formats like WAV, FLAC, etc., when lovingly transferred from good sources, can come VERY close.
2. Not all lovers of the material have the same finances, or storage space.
Best,
-Craig
I enjoy my digitized albums much more than the original vinyl. The software Roxio came with allows me to remove most of the pops and scratches while improving the overall tone. Plus I'm not saddled with flipping the record every 15 minutes or so.
I still enjoying having the lps, and I'll listen to an lp when I first get them and every once in a while afterwards, but give me a digitized playlist for a day's worth of monsterish Halloween goodness.
True, Chris.
Easily available/easy to use audio/graphic programs make better-sounding audio/better looking jackets affordable on a budget.
And the digital realm makes such collectibles much easier to share, which is for me a big reason to have them.

Nice!
I literally pulled my turntable (2, actually) out of a recycle bin at our local landfill. Pioneer PL-112D and a Technics SL-b300. Found drive belts on ebay, they play flawlessly!

It's dated 1975 and the cover is Power Records but the record album itself is marked Peter Pan. I don't have a turntable now so I can't check it, but the album just lists the Story of the 3 monsters, and lists the side 2 as the conclusion of the story. This link leads to a post with a You Tube video for House Of Terror parts 1 and 2. http://www.universalmonsterarmy.com/forum/index.php?topic=25649.msg417342#msg417342 (http://www.universalmonsterarmy.com/forum/index.php?topic=25649.msg417342#msg417342) The part 1 is the story about the 3 monsters by Adams, but the part 2 is other stories and songs. I'm not sure if my version has any of that extra stuff on side 2. On the record and cover it makes no mention of the extra material. That House Of Terror must have been a different release of it.

You're welcome, geezer. Neal Adams is one of the best, especially for the work he did in the late '60s to mid '70s. I focus on monster comics nowadays but I held onto my original copy of Superman Vs. I still rank him as THE best comic artist, just edging out Jack Davis. The list of those nipping at their heels is very long though and includes these fellows in alphabetical order:
Murphy Anderson (his inks made the pencils of everybody from Mike Sekowsky to Carmine Infantino to Gil Kane look really good)
Jim Aparo
John Byrne
Dick Dillin
Lee Elias
Dick Giordano
Russ Heath
Jack Kirby/Joe Simon team.
Joe Kubert
Joe Maneely
Howie Post
John Romita Sr.
John Severin
Steve Steranko
Curt Swan

American Telecard produced these Buzza-Cardoza of Anaheim, CA monster greeting cards that contained cardboard-backed plastic records - like the ones that were sometimes bound into magazines like MAD. They were even voiced by no less than Mel Blanc and Lennie Weinrib! Columbia Records pressed the little discs.
Don't have a year on these. And the backs of 2 of the tear-out records (with storyline synopses) are missing.

I believe you have the best collection of monster-themed records on this forum. I know you have Dracula's Greatest Hits, Zacherle's Monster Mash Party and Music for Monsters all of which feature Jack Davis sleeve art because you posted about them in different threads. Could you repost them all together in this thread?
???
Here's Dracula's Greatest hits.

I think that's all the monster-related records I have with Jack Davis art on them. I have some other records with Jack Davis art but they're not monster-related.
Here's a record I got not long ago that's really hard to find...

And here's another one I got not long ago. This one used to be advertised in the back of Famous Monsters and it's also very hard to find...

Awesome, Monolith. I bought a copy of the album this year.

It's a great album, but all Zacherle's albums are great.
Here's another hard to find album that was advertised in the back of Famous Monsters...

And here's the sister album which was also advertised in the back of Famous Monsters. I have most of the records that were advertised in FM. Not all of them, though.

Magnificent! Jack Davis' artwork is always a treat for the eyes.

And here's my insert from Dracula's Greatest Hits featuring 15 Jack Davis monsters. That record was LOADED with Jack Davis monsters front, back, and even inside...

I dig this.
Marsattacks666--- Thanks. I dig it, too.
Not Jack Davis art, but this is another monster record from the 1960's featuring all monster-themed songs. It's a great fun album.

Yes, the likely inspiration for that toy.
I have this 45/7" of Monster Mash. Produced by Peter Pan records

Peter Pan released a lot of excellent and now very collectible records. And they were all educational too of course!
;)

It was drawn by an artist named George Peed, who also did this one for Peter Pan Records, which you might like...

Really cool, Monolith. I was just showing my Wife this album a few days ago.
That "Ghoctly Sounds" LP was my introduction to horror & monsters. I received it for Christmas when I was 5 or 6.
I still have it. Its the only thing that survived my many many moves growing up. Still has my name written in crayon on the
track list of side 1 on the LP. Good times.
What a fabulous present for a little kid! And to still have it is too cool.
