The Addams Family is another enormously popular pop culture icon. From Wikipedia:
Quote from: WikipediaThe Addams Family is an American television series based on the characters in Charles Addams' New Yorker cartoons. The 30-minute series was shot in black-and-white and aired for two seasons on ABC from September 18, 1964, to April 8, 1966, totalling 64 episodes.
The show spawned a coterie of toys and other collectibles. Here's a photograph of my Aurora Addams Family Haunted House model kit:

I love The Addams Family! The show, the strips, the movies - it's all great! When my wife and I got married we decided to take "Addams" as our last names instead of taking either of our surnames.
I appreciate them. I live them.
I enjoyed both the television show and the flicks.
I always enjoyed Charles Addams' drawings and the TV show. I have some Addams' stuff like a few books and magazines and this card game...

And this record with Vic Mizzy's great music...

And this View-Master set, which has color pictures of the Addams Family in it, which was probably an exciting thing to see having mostly seen them
in black and white on TV...

And I have a reproduction of the Haunted House model kit that Hepcat posted above. (Nice original!)
I forgot I also have some of the action figures based on the animated series...

Tell me more Bob
Addams is sort of my specialty (Munsters, too), besides the vintage monstuh toy thing. I used to write back and forth to Charles Addams at the New Yorker as a kid. I grew up in a huge 120-something year old victorian house filled with era antiques. The victorian influence crossed over onto my adult life (BTW, bugs the hell out of me when the Addams are referred to as "goth" these days. At least in the old series, they were victorian). Lastly, my own decorating taste was heavily influenced by the TV house interior. Oh, and I collect authentic props from the show... http://tinyurl.com/7gflsdz (http://tinyurl.com/7gflsdz)
Monster Bob--- WOW! Fantastic props! I especially love the polar bear, the iron maiden and that vulture hood ornament!!!

Dang Bob you are living it.LOL! That's awesome.
I'm with Bob when it comes to the Addams family. The Addams Family is a huge part of the reason, I always wanted to live in a Victorian home, and I now live in the house seen in my avatar. When they brought the "Addams Family" musical to Durham, NC, I made a point in seeing it. Unlike a certain remake of a daytime soap I could mention, I really liked how they handled Charles Addams' creation.
Agreed, HH...loved it.
Super cool props Bob. Love the Addams Family. My middle name is Adams, perhaps I'll add the second "d" 8)
Thanks guys...glad you like them. They give me untold joy!
I have always loved the Addams Family too and would love to live in an old Victorian someday, which is possible, there are plenty still standing in our area.
One of my favorite pieces in my own collection is a lithograph signed by Carles Addams, although I got a pretty cool Birthday gift last year, which I treasure as well.
I will leave links, because I have yet to have luck with posting pictures.

Right on, brother! That is an awesome video! ...ahem...*recaptures composure* Now, concerning the appreciation thread proper...I fell in love with the Addams Family when it first started in 1964. I was five years old and I remember the two "monster family" shows which ran around the same time (the other being The Munsters, of course). I really liked The Munsters, but I loved the "weirdo family with the strangely pretty woman in black". It would be years before I learned the Addams Family was based on the cartoons of Charles Addams. All those outlandish characters were so bizarre and appealing to me: Lurch, Thing, Cousin Itt, Fester, even Grandmama. Wednesday was so cute and cunningly evil. Gomez was hilarious (LOVE John Astin's take on the character). And then there was dear Morticia. Even at the age of five I somehow knew she was powerfully sexy...I didn't understand it, but I knew it. The sexual tension between Morticia and Gomez was like a monster in itself, which was unheard of on other TV shows of that time. Ozzy and Harriet they weren't! Addams Family is one of my all time favorite shows. Thank the fates for DVD so that this and other great shows are always at our fingertips.

I always loved the A.F and Chas Addams. I Have all the hardcover books but now trying to get all the toys... its was a classic 1960's "monster kid" t.v. show. And what a cast! Certainly a cast to rival the Munsters but......LURCH?? Lurch is my favorite character of either series! Bar none.............
I'd love to get the Uncle Fester mystery light bulb, but I think it's in the 350-400 range. A little rich for my blood.

Fred Gwynne did a great job making the Frankenstein Monster family friendly. There is just something though about the quiet madness of Gomez Addams as portrayed by John Astin (with a hint of Groucho) who is my favorite head of the family.

The originals are probably from the '60s. I'm pretty sure the light blue Fester is original but the others may actually be repops from the '80s or '90s. They all may be originals but the reason I mentioned the possibility above is due to a UMA post I spotted at some point featuring a long-time member (and I shan't name names ;D) grousing about the colorful ones being repops. Even if they are repops I think they're pretty little gems and I'm only too glad to display them with my other coveted vending items, especially the Morticias. Also, if they are in fact repops I hardly ever see them pop up on the 'Bay these days so I don't think they're too plentiful. On the other hand they may all well be from the '60s for what I'm sure of. I am sure that I dig 'em however, and I don't give a rat's patoot if they're repopped or not. ;)
So evidently Milton Bradley released at least two Addams Family puzzles in 1965. There's the one Monolith posted on the first page of this thread:

And the one pictured near the top of this page that Freddie Poe has:

Of the major board game producers from 1955-75, e.g. Milton Bradley, Transogram, Parker Bros., Hasbro, etc. Ideal was thanks to the efforts of Ralph Pereida the one that produced games with consistently the best artwork/graphics. The Addams Family game above was no exception.

That "Thing" box is maybe the best one I've seen. Did it come with both the cardboard inserts, and the instruction sheet..? I've bought and rebuilt over 20 of them, and have a couple real nice boxes, but not that nice.

That's such a blast from the past. I used to put mine on my parents dashboard, to keep company as a tyke. I finally got all of those (and The Munsters set) a couple of decades ago. It's really hard to find them with nice hair (especially the ladies).
