Just saw the trailer for this the other day. Looks like it is going to be amazing.

I'm curious... Have there been any other films (amateur or not) that have tried to re-create the feeling of the classic monster movies before this?

does Young Frankenstien count? I believe it was made years after black and white was no longer used

Look at "Call of the Cthulhu" Its a new silent movie .... very good ....done in the B and w silent style of the golden age ...you can get it on Netflix ...and ...
