ALWAYS MONSTERING...

Monsters For Sale

I don't know what's funnier, the bit - or watching John Cleese trying not to break up.

Welcome!

Quote from: SpeedierThantheGrave on August 17, 2014, 12:48:02 PMHere are some pictures of the vintage side of my collection, almost all things I've picked up in the last year.... a complete Mattel Fright Factory... Finally (I think) a mostly complete Motorized Monster Maker kit I snagged for $25! I love Thingmakers and Creepy Crawlers, and this kit is just amazing!

Oh man! We all love Thingmakers and the Motorized Monster Maker! There are several Thingmaker threads on this board. Here's one:

There are many "Big Daddy" Roth fans on this board. Here is a "Big Daddy" Roth thread you might enjoy:

Quote from: SpeedierThantheGrave on August 17, 2014, 12:48:02 PMAlso a complete Collegeville Skeleton costume (probably the late '50s? It seems like an older style that I've seen)....

That's a nice one! Here is one of the good Collegeville costume threads on this board:

Welcome to the nuthouse, Speed. Some cool stuff there in your collection! Glad to see another rockabilly fan on the board -- we're outnumbered by the metalheads by a good margin! We coexist just fine, of course -- but still good to see another one of "us" among "us!"

Thanks Scary. And yay, new monster/rockabilly friends!  I have quite a few metal friends IRL, one in particular has a rockabilly wife, so he's a bit of a hybrid. Haha. (We actually have plans for a two man Johnny Cash tribute band.) And in the interest of full disclosure, I identify more with the psycho/horrorbilly crowd, for obvious reasons.  ;)

Too cool! I've definitely heard of The Razorbacks, Voodoo Coupe sounds familiar too, I'll have to check them out.

I like to think of psychobilly as "rockabilly+punk", but I have heard of psychobilly referred to as "metal's redneck cousin." Good enough, I'll take it. Haha

I finally found a Creature/Mr. Hyde flicker ring. Got it off evilBay. That finishes the 3 Don Post Mask flickers for me.

One is the chrome base and the other two are plastic, but as long as I have one of each I'm good. Now that I have all 6 of the Vari-Vue Unimons and these I think I'm satisfied with my flicker rings for awhile. Time to turn the monstering money towards something else I guess.

Congrats, again! I think I like those plastic rings the best. No flaking on the finish.
