Actually, I think this was from a short lived, or perhaps never brought to the screen "Superboy" series, serial or film

It's from Don Glut's amateur film Superman Vs. the Gorilla Gang (1965).

And here's Don Glut's website. He did 41 amateur films some featuring monsters like Frankenstein and a werewolf and a couple of Kong types, and some with superheroes like Spiderman and Will Eisner's the Spirit.

This is Gorilla Man from the recent Agents of Atlas comic book (which I bet all of you would love, as it's chock full of references to sci fi movies, and has a retro vibe).

It's a great comic BL. Besides Gorilla Man, there's the robot, a flying saucer, and a giant chinese dragon! Packed full of intrigue with spies, aliens, and mermaids and goddesses! It's one of the few comics I read that is actually fun.
