This is one of those films that is a keystone for a whole generation of fans--and it's always jarring to see the principals of such a film fade away.  James Dean, Sal Mineo and Natalie Wood all died tragically and far before their time.  Corey, at least, enjoyed a long and successful acting AND directing career--a good run, Corey!  Rest now.

By the way--the reports of Corey Allen's death made me think of convention-friend, Kenny Miller, who was in REBEL and also in I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF (and other films).  Although Corey was perhaps the last PRINCIPAL actor, Kenny remains--and perhaps others, too--who were in smaller supporting roles.  The role call for REBEL still has some thriving names!
