Very, very sorry to hear this.  I never met him "in person" but I did sell him some artwork a couple of times, and he was a very nice person to work with on stuff like that.  He is represented here as a very kind soul indeed.  Joseph is in my prayers.
Beautiful moving, shifting colors!

I'm sorry I never had the pleasure of his acquaintance, but the loss of any UMAniac necessarily diminishes us all. He must have been a truly special individual to be remembered so affectionately here........RIP brother.

Any mention on just how he passed away? I know these things are held private many times, but at just 45yrs of age my mind can't help but to ask how and why?  ???

These questions are on all of our minds, no doubt.  Sad news, indeed.

He died as a result of a pulmonary embolism following a motorcycle wreck.

A lady swerved into his lane while he was riding.  He had an operation on his back, was released in the hospital and seemed to be recovering as well as could be expected.   A few days later, he developed complications and the blood clot in his lungs.

I never had the pleasure, but my heartfelt condolences to his friends & family. Sad to go so young!

So sad. I'd just echo all the great things already said about Hauzy...

...and, about the "Ur-UMA."

Rest to him, and comfort to his loved ones,

Never met him in person but read his post in the UMA back in the Yahoo days. One of our originals is gone. Sad news indeed. R.I.P. Hauzy.

Tragic.  So sorry.

It is sad when anyone dies before their time, but especially due to complications from medical treatment. I have a friend whose mother died in December from infections and complications from an operation earlier in the year.  We expect medical treatment to make us better, not worse.  But life is fragile and every day is a gift.  It seems Hauzy was trying his best to live life to the fullest.  He enjoyed his hobby, enjoyed his bike, and had a good gal by his side.  Hurray for him!  Too bad for the rest of us that we can no longer enjoy his company.

Wish I could have got to know him, Hauzy sounds like a fantastic and giving person.  I've noticed most Monster Kids are that way, but reading this thread, it really sounds like Joseph was extreamly so.  And much loved. Rest in Peace Joseph Hauze.

"Hauzy" sounds like a very special person and I'm sorry I never got the chance to meet him.  Rest in Peace, Joseph Hauze...
