36th chamber were supposed to have action figures but were never realeased by Mindstyle. I wanted a San Te Gordon Liu toy  since I was a kid.

Growing up in a small town just Northeast of Baltimore, I was well aware of the Kung Fu film/ Bruce Lee Craze of the early 70s.

If anyone ever attended a Bruce Lee film in the 1970s, I'm sure you witnessed a similar audience participation as well. In Baltimore, wannabes would leave their seats and begin their impressions and impersonations, fighting in the aisle in the front, and to the sides. At times, they were as entertaining as the movies themselves.

I was always amazed that I never witnessed a flaring of tempers, and once the really intense fight sequence occurred, all eyes were fixed on Bruce.

They used to have kung fu theater Saturday afternoons on channel 20 in the late 70's/early 80's. It was either before or after a monster matinee. You know when TV was cool...

Have you seen "legend of the eight samurai"?? it stars Sonny Chiba..

hammerfan

No but thanx i'll check it out.  I always liked Chiba.  My fave Japanese star next to Mifune, who was amazing!

ahh...another Mifune fan..  8)

"Legend of the eight samurai" if I remember correctly, is a fantasy samurai movie with an evil sorceress, one of the best imo.

Met Jim Kelly at a Con recently. He is still in great shape and was very nice to his fans.  Yes TG I am a big fan of Mifune.  The only guy I can think of who comes close to him now in Ken Watanabe who was so good in Last Samurai.  If anyone was ever to attempt to remake Seven Samurai or Yojimbo, he would be the guy.
