While not turkey, what about the classic Lights Out radio program where scientists cause a chicken heart to grow to such a gigantic size that it threatens a city...I kid you not.  And it was a creepy episode for such an outrageous idea.

Bill Cosby based his "Chicken Heart" routine on the fact that he had actually listened to that episode of Lights Out as a child. Ol' Bill is a bit of a Monster Kid himself and mentions monsters in several of his comedy bits.

Here are the last two times I dressed up for halloween, regrettably several years and a crappy digital camera ago now.
2004-Jason. The mask I customized from a generic dollar store glow mask. I chopped the axe cut in it and painted it up.


2005-One of HP Lovecraft's Deep Ones from the Shadow Over Innsmouth (my all time favorite horror story) I made the eyes out of egg carton cups and painted them up. Today they reside in the sockets of a fake skull on my dresser!

When I was a kid my older brother had that Lights Out on vinyl and he would watch me and my little sister
when my parents went out and he'd turn out all the lights in the house and play that episode with the giant chicken heart to scare us.
