Hey everyone! Thought that since I'm already seeing Halloween Decorations going up for sale in some stores I'd go through some photos from Halloween a few years back and share 'em! This is a custom from scratch Darkness costume I made back in '08 along side a made from scratch Pyramid Head costume from Silent Hill my friend is sporting...

That set in the last pic is a made from scratch set we built in our garage as part of our annual haunted house.

Those are great, Greg.  I like the hooves on the demon/ devil.  How did you make them?  The Pyramid Head is awesome, too.  How did he do the legs/ feet-------he looks tall.

creaturerevenge

He stood about 9 feet tall. We made "stilts" for him using reenforced plastic construction buckets. He didn't have any experience on real stilts and since the character just had a large loose fitting skirt it could hide them and they actually helped keep the shape better! As for the goat hooves those were a little more awkward to walk in, I used a pair of platform shoes as the base and made a hoof shaped base out of wood that got screwed to the bottom of each shoe, I then coated each one with Great Stuff expanding foam insulation and once it expanded and dried carves it into the shape of the hooves. Then I coated it with foam putty, sanded it smooth and carved into it and then painted them up! Not the easiest things to walk in but the more I did it the easier it got! They were fun costumes to make, but not the easiest. Pyramid head was actually a last minute project and we had the whole thing done in about 3 days (including the head from scratch... there were some serious all-nighters on that one!) but the Darkness devil costume took about 2 years of planning, designing and construction and set me back a pretty penny on parts and materials. The horns were the hardest part, them and the head rig that held them was nothing but a goof 9 - 10 months of trial and error on 'em!

Looks like a longer version of my battle axe.

Heh, I wouldn't be too surprised had it been. Wolf Man's quite the werewolf connosier, as his name may suggest.
