Hi and Welcome to Luke ~ I don't know if anyone replied, but I for one am curious about what kind of toys you make and collect. We love toys. I'm sure a few pictures of your toys wouldn't offend anyone!  Nice of you to be considerate though.

Hello everyone,

My name is Ryan Bijan, and I am an aspiring filmmaker and lifelong fan of the Universal Monsters, and classic horror in general. I'm 20, but discovered the classic monsters through the colorful Universal VHS tapes released in the early 90's, and Crestwood House storybooks from the library. I was immediately hooked, and it is the Universal Monsters that lead me to read classics of literature like Dracula and Frankenstein, as well as igniting my passion for vintage/classic cinema in all genres.

As well as a filmmaker and student, I am a collector of most things monster related, and I love to paint and sculpt (when I have the time.) Without creative geniuses like Whale, Fisher and Freund initially sparking my childhood dreams, I wouldn't have the drive to create films, I have today.

Thank you for reading,

Ryan Bijan

Welcome Brian!! I know we'd all love to see your collection as well as any film work you may have publicly accessible.
We're all here because we're not all there.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I am from North Texas. BTW, is there a way to directly embed YouTube videos on this forum? I'd like to post a link to a page for a film I've made, and post the trailers directly. I'm sure someone with the username "Opera Ghost" will find my project particularly interesting.

Hello,
I stumbled across this site while researching the old Imagineering makeup kits from the 70's.
Born in 1961, I was an Air force brat following my dad to the other side of the world as a kid. I went to Kindergarten - 3rd grade in Okinawa ('66-'70), 4th Grade in Victorville CA ('70-'71), and 5th - 9th ('72-'76) grade back in Okinawa, 10th ('76-'77) Rudyard Michigan and 11th-12th )'77-'79) Milpitas California..
In Okinawa, they are big on the ghost stories and monsters but it was in 4th grade I had just watched "The Blob" on TV and the next day I found my first tube of Vampire Blood at a 7-11 in Victorville, CA.
From that it grew to Scar stuff and Evil teeth.

After moving back to Okinawa in '72, there were things you did not have access to like in the states. One was Topp's baseball cards, and another big one was Sweet Tarts candy. However, the items I could not find were the cool makeup items from Imagineering. I had to have friends from the states send me my supply of items. By the late 70's, I had the Evil Eyes, Glow goop, Creepy Skin (My favorite) Tooth Out, Green Dragon Blood, and even a "The Face" kit.
While I went through tons of the stuff each halloween, I still have some today (unopened).

I read a ton of the posts here and get a a kick from of the stories of memories past. I had to join up so I could follow more stories to come.

My name is Paul Knaack
While I was in Victorville CA in 1971, I got to see the stunt show at universal studios and knew what I wanted to do when I grew up. (Did I really grow up?)
In 1984, I actually got to work with some of the veteran stunt guys who worked at Universal studios. This is why I use the name "stuntpk"
I also taught special effects makeup to kids through the 90's (using Creepy Skin as my number one tool)

I am so happy that Rubies has continued the original formula for Creepy Skin (with the cotton)
It brings back the days of covering half my face in the stuff... (yuck)

I am currently in San Jose CA.
Thanks for having such a cool site.

Zombie_Zach

I'm Zombie Zach. I have been into universal monsters and horror movies since a very young age when my dad introduced them to me. I am 21 now and my love, and collection for the monsters I love has grown with age. As for anything else, I am an FX artist currently in art school learning how to create monsters and mad men, and I am a lover of psychobilly and rockabilly music.
