I later got a 3-pack VHS or Frankenstein, Dracula and the Wolfman for my tenth birthday and have been hooked ever since.

When I was that age, "Shock Theater" (or whatever your local was called) was where we went for our dose of classic horror, but Drac and Frank were probably the first videos I rented.

Joe Bob Briggs was the closest thing I had to a horror host with Monster Vision on TNT... but they never showed anything pre-70s.

As I recall, those tapes had to be special ordered out of a catalog. That was still pre-internet and none of our local stores carried them. At least Svengoolie is now syndicated nationwide so I can get my weekly monster fix.

BTW, I forgot to explain my username. Farley Flavors is the villain in Shock Treatment, the often maligned follow-up to The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

My favorite thing on Monster Vision, was the Outer Limits marathons!  :)

I'm lookin' for the leader of a gang called "The Lost Men." They're a bunch of outlaws and killers from all over the West.   My job is to find him.

"shock Treatment is a good movie, but like "Halloween 3, Season of the witch", fans of the original were disappointed that it wasn't a direct sequel.
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

The Monsters Daughter

Hello, my name is Allyson. I'm 20 years old, and relatively new to Universal Monster/Classic Horror movies. I've always liked horror movies, from Nightmare On Elm Street to Saw, they all are great, to me! I'm pretty sure the only Universal Monster movies I've seen are Frankenstein and The Bride of Frankenstein. Karloff does so well in both, and Elsa Lanchester did wonderful as Mary Shelley and The Monster's Mate!

I want to see more of the classic horror movies, including the silent ones, like Nosfuratu!

Welcome to the UMA, MD!

We'll do our best to encourage your new found interest in the classics.  :)

A couple of Universal titles not to be missed. THE OLD DARK HOUSE (1932) and THE BLACK CAT (1934).
