Ahhhhhh Children of the Night, what music they make!

I hereby salute you all :)

I'm Jean-Sebastien (call me JS or urbanchaos), a 21 years old Canadian horror fan.

Looks cozy in here, mind if I take a beer?

Welcome JS.  Us older members (I'm 47.) often wonder how younger members become interested in the classic monsters.  How was your interest spraked?

Woodface

OK guys... cut me some slack if I did this wrong and posted in the wrong place...

I'm woodface... real name Steve. This is my first post... I love the forum though. 43 years old... Little Rock, AR.

My story is this... When I was young and would go to my grandparents house, they lived in a small house in a small town and there was rarely anything to do, (love them though I did)... but the thing that saved me from the boredom was a stack of Famous Monsters of Flimland Magazines that my uncle had left behind when he moved off to college. He was of the right age to be a 60's monster kid and also had a couple of Aurora Models that used to scare my brother to death. (I thought they were cool...) also around this time I was staying up late on Friday nights and watching Elvira, etc.. introducing me to the movies that I had read about in my uncle's old FMOF mags.

(I myself was a bit too young to be part of the original monster craze... I was born in 69... missed the beatles too. I have since made up for both omissions.)

Anyway.. my love for monster things died away and went dormant until the mid nineties or early 2000s or something... I don't remember when exactly, but it is easy to date because the first three sideshow monsters were still on the shelf at Toys R Us... I bought them there and also found Ray Castile's site about the same time... Then my love for the classic monsters, my OCD, and my yearning for better days created a perfect storm for me to go overboard with my collecting. I couldn't afford much vintage stuff, but I kept up with a lot of the newer stuff.... now I have a whole room in my house filled to overflowing. It goes in phases, but I have been enjoying this forum for a week or two now and figured I would post and introduce myself.

So... ummm... Hi urbuudy.

Oh no, not that guy!   :P

Actually Ray's site may have been responsible for leading me to the UMA as well.  You hear me, Ray?  It's all your fault.
