Well, here's more!

Besides people, THINGS made an appearance:

As well as creatures like Blacky Lagoon and his main squeeze, Ms. Julie Adams, who talked with me about something we had in common: growing up in small town Arkansas!

There were robots:

And aliens from Mars!

As well as the boy who fought INVADERS FROM MARS, Jimmy Hunt:

Vampires, hunchbacked assistants and invisible men were represented by the cast of the GHOUL A GO-GO:

Finally, I got to meet the very gifted human author Debbie Painter; Debbie has a biography of Forrest J Ackerman coming this fall, which I'm really looking forward to:

Actress/producer Rebecca Paiva, lovely and fetching as always:[/size]

Is Rebecca related to Nestor Paiva, who directed "Creature from the Black Lagoon"?

Nestor Paiva played Captan Lucas.  Jack Arnold directed the film.  Still, it would be interesting to know if she's related.  Penny?

Ms. Nurmi's niece has been running the Vampira Facebook page these days, and (as she works through things she has inherited) has been kind enough to scan and post some of Maila's art, which is just stunning.

If you are on Facebook, and not already a fan, I recommend linking up and taking a peek.
Not sure if this link will work, but here is the page to the art she has up:

Thanks for the link, Elizabeth! Some great stuff-- and nice to know that prints will be available.

I was lucky enough to receive some scans of a 1955 article about Vampira. Check it out on my blog, fellow UMA troops-- you'll learn some details about her you may not have known before! (I did, anyway.)

I've asked her about that too.  She says "no, we are not related as far as I know."  Perhaps a little genealogical research is in order.

...or the rack!

Now, now. You shouldn't talk about a lady's rack, Rob.

What great pics of us!!! Thanks so much for sharing them here!!! :) I loved walking around with the It's Alive! baby... next year I am thinking about getting a carrier to carry it around part of the time in.. just because SO MANY people thought it was a real baby until they got a look at it's little face and then OMG I wished I'd had a video camera on THEIR faces! ROTFL!!! Many recognized it and loved it (too bad no one adopted them! argh!)

I guess I'm surprised about that really - we had the dragon, werewolf puppy and It's Alive! puppets and not one baby was adopted - poor things!

Anywho, I wanted to share the pics I took of the Bash. There's over a hundred, so I'll post the FB link for it instead of the actual pics. LOL OH! And it's so awesome that we sold a marionette to Tom Savini!!! WOOT! :D

Here's Bash pics of UMA member Bobby Gammons (now mostly quiet, but whose posts in the Yahoo days were a valuable part of the ongoing conversations), his wife Melissa, and their brood of creepy creatures:
