With Fester's dispensation, I'll post these pictures of the results when large cats encounter a new, but small, cat bed:

First of all Ace decides it makes a dandy new chair:

But then Cowboy learns to position himself for its intended use:

This was one of my favorite threads in the general discussion venue. We have a canine added to our roster. Blue Heeler. Best dog ever. Name is Amity. Also pictured are our two cats. She rustles them all around the back yard and the house. They're all the best of friends....but occasionally there is a little dust up to settle. Cats are Charcoal and Mr. Moomies.

Since this thread has been revived . . . I regret to inform everyone that my beloved Bella passed away from lymphoma on May 2 of this year.

As much as I loved and can never replace Bella, in February 2015 I took in a second cat. She was a stray on the property at my old apartment complex, dropping litters of kittens left and right. Sadly, all of her kittens would die around 3 months. I took her in, had her spayed, and called her Lil Mama. She and Bella were the best of friends for the 2+ years I had them together. I'm not sure who misses Bella more, Lil Mama or me.

Very sad to hear. Many of us "knew" Bella from your pictures.

Thank you. It was devastating for me, as she was the last pet my mother and I took care of together. It was like another link to Mom died. But, Lil Mama is a big help. She is just full of love. (And cat treats!)

Sincere condolences .. I know how difficult it is to lose a loved one of any species or age.   :(

Weird thing is, I'm now in a similar situation with Lil Mama as I was with Bella over three years ago. After Bella died, I ended up having to move. The "big day" was Sept. 18th. It has been very stressful on me, but Lil Mama is acting like a real trooper. Of course, moving only 3/5th of a mile from my old place might be a factor. It's not like we had to drive from New Jersey to North Carolina, as we did in 1999. But, considering that Lil Mama was literally born on the property of my old apartment, and that was the only territory she ever knew, I was worried about her reaction. Luckily, she seems to only care that her food dishes are full and that she gets petted whenever she desires.
