I just got a new cat a few days ago.  Her name is Samantha Jean.  She came from a Humane Society shelter.  They said she was so crabby and difficult that no one wanted to adopt her.  Well, she has been a real sweetheart with me.  No crabbiness whatsoever.

She's very cute, Ray. No doubt, she's in a great environment now, and I'm sure she'll be right at home with the other cats.

She's a beauty, Ray.  Congratulations on adding Samantha Jean to your home.  And thank you for going the way of the Humane Society--wonderful pets there for everyone!

Congrats Ray.  Felis Domesticus make good MASTERS! Will she be jealous of your nails do you think?

So, Ray is now among the cat staffers. I must say Samantha Jean looks particularly regal and very refined--no wonder she was crabby, having to slum like that at the animal shelter. Does she converse?
The Scissorpawed one at home is very talkative and down-right mouthy when he doesn't want to cooperate(like when I make him get out of my chair when I come home from work). This afternoon Ralphie danced a fandango across the hood of my car with very muddy paws--I plan to wash the car tomorrow and then hide it in the garage until I go to work.
Ralphie only takes his repose on his back when he's in my chair--then he's stretched out full length on his back with his legs in the air(but never attempt to touch his tummy for there will be blood).

I'm not really a cat person, but damn it Ray, that cat is just too cute for words. I really love her eyes.  :) You get 100 cool points for going to the Humane Society & giving an animal a good home. The name Samantha Jean is nice, but I thought you'd name a female cat something more exotic like Terezinha (unless you already have). :D

Welcome to a life of servitude Ray.  You did well in selecting your master.

Yeah, Harry, that's what I'm talking about! No pet on earth can beat a dog. Dixie Belle truly is a "belle"! ;D I'm looking at her left leg/paw & it looks injured. Did you get her from Humane Society, like Ray did with his new cat?

My hamster is very jealous of my nails. When I first got him home, and picked him up from the carrier to place him in his cage, he panicked and bit straight through my nail, tearing it off, down to the quick. Even still, if I don't use gloves when I pick him up, he'll panic and try to bite me. He wants them covered up, and then he's fine. I guess, since I named him Zé, he has decided he's going to be the one to have the claws in this family. :D

My cats (I have three) like getting scratched by my nails.  None of them have their front claws, so I wear the nails in this family.

I didn't give Samantha Jean her name.  She's had that name for years.  It's a nice name that suits her.  She recognizes it and will come when called.  At least she did the first couple days.  I think she's figured out that she can safely ignore whatever comes out of my mouth.

Not sure Meek if she is part Chessie. All lab as far as I know. And as for the paw Spank thats one of her hot spots. She'll lick and lick til its raw. We've tried just about everything on her to stop, but she keeps on lickin.Any advice? And no she came to us as a present to our daughter when you could hold her in your hand,Daughter left her with us and of course we still have her.Our BIG girl.

Harry: Have you tried "Sulfadine" or just plain diaper cream? "Sulfadine" always worked on Neddy's hot spots and helped to dry them up. You also may want to find a dog food that isn't so rich for an elderly dog's digestion--she may have an allergy; Neddy was allergic to grass and broke out in hot spots on his belly so I used to give him an over-the-counter allergy pill and man did he get a rash from "Science Diet"!

I have two dachshunds. I have a 3 and a half year old male named Schultz von Rathbone and an 8 month old female who we've officially christened Sophie Lugosi.

Yeah, they're 100% hams.

Sophie is not vicious. She was chowing down on a puppy biscuit. I'm sure she outsmarted Schultzie to get it. :)

For the first two weeks, Schultzie avoided Sophie like the plague. As you can see in this photo, he's softened up a little bit. He's letting her share his Batman pillow! This is progress!

Thanks for letting me share a few pics of my wild wild weiners!
