First I want to stress that there are no "rules" about posting live eBay auctions at this forum.  It has however been discussed several times.  The consensus is that unless it's something that is extremely noteworthy and in plain view (correctly listed really rare thing with multiple bids going into high dollars already) that posting auctions here can cause some raw feelings.

For instance, that Uni knives listing, someone might have had their eye on that already, hoping to get it for a good price.  When you post it where our 2600+ members, most of whom collect that sort of thing, can all see it, you increase the odds that more people will bid on it, and as a result it sells at a higher price and the person who was seeking it out no longer has a chance to get it at the price they could afford.

Obviously that set of knives has a Buy It Now price on it, but it also has a Make Offer option.  So let's say that before it was posted, I had offered $180 for the set.  Now someone who wanted it but hadn't put "monster knives" or whatever into the eBay search this week sees it posted here, and sends in an offer of $190.  Maybe the seller would have accepted my offer, but now he has a better one.

Again, there are no rules against it, but this has been an issue in the past that has led to some folks getting very upset.

On the other hand, when a seller lists a bunch of something that members have an interest in, everyone is happy about it.

Continue as you wish, but bear in mind that the good intention of helping might not be viewed by everyone as help.

yeah I buy and sell stuff on Ebay all the time, mostly looking for 1933 King Kong stuff. You know,on Ebay it seems like anybody that paints a model is a "pro."I Get a lot of deals though, I am still trying to get a 1979 Kenner Alien for a reasonable price. I have a wish list of stuff I am always looking for... Evil Dead resin kits, Frankenstein 24 inch vinyl kit, I just got a sideshow black and white 12 inch loose Nosferatu for about 25 bucks. got a Crimson Ghost resin kit for about 40. My number 1 search is for a 6 foot Jack Davis Frankenstein poster. I am hoping to find one at Monsterpalooza this week. What are you guys hunting for on the Ebay?

Don't give up hope on anything.  I got my Kenner Alien last Spring with the box for a steal.  Sometimes it's right place at the right time.

Mostly I look for autographs, especially the more obscure people.

Opera Ghost

I look for UM related things (masks, Sideshow 12") as the spirit moves me, Dark Shadows as well as Adam West era Batman, Green Hornet , Captain Action, Major Matt Mason, Zeroids and some prop related things for my annual Halloween display.

oh yeah....and an assortment of Phantom of the Opera things

Most of my Ebaying is more like "window shopping".  I cruise it, usually once a week, and most of the time, I don't have the extra funds even if I do see something I want to buy!  As far as monster stuff, I usually start with the '33 Kong items, always hoping to find a decent priced 13" Imperial King Kong.  Lately, I've been on a "Bigfoot" kick (the hairy monster, not the truck!), so I search BIGFOOT, SASQUATCH, YETI, etc.  even though 95% of the items don't interest me.  I've also been on a TEENAGE FRANKENSTEIN search for awhile now.  I NEVER have enough bread to buy the few really cool TF models that are out there (and they rarely pop up) but, alas, I keep searching.  The only Uni-Monsters I regularly search (which is actually down to every couple of weeks) is FRANKENSTEIN & THE WOLF MAN.

Every so often, I'll check out DARK SHADOWS, WEREWOLVES ON WHEELS and everything in the "monsters" category.

O-b-s-e-s-s-e-d with eBay! I buy vintage photos, some repros, and a few lobby cards. Interested in Hammer and Roger Corman memorabilia, and the actors and actresses most common in those types of films.

I only have a couple auto-searches set up, for Stretch Armstrong stuff and certain old army men. For monster stuff I really like is to explore a lot of "see other items". I've found neat items tucked away that were listed weirdly and off the radar. I also don't have much budget these days but it's fun to try and maybe get lucky!
