Condition is a factor. The Dracula cup I purchased(posted picture above)I was fortunate, no cracks, lines, fading or yellow/aging. The previous owner took really nice of the cup, and so am I. I couldn't believe when I first received the Dracula cup, what splendid/amazing condition.  Like the 7-11 cup was never used, or maybe the cup went through a time-warp? Lol!!!! Oops!!!! Did just start another thread?  "Time-warps and vintage toys"

The Drac one is sweet!  Most of mine were like that (save the ring).  The few DC I had seemed to be more problematic with condition.  Maybe they came out the earliest so were older?  Plus they seemed to be less colorful in the sense that they used, well, less colors and the transfers seemed to be not as well done.  My favorite were the first Marvel ones like your Drac.  I also snapped up some baseball ones and still have them around here somewhere.  Either way, it would be fun to get another one and head into a 7-11 and ask for a refill! :)

That would be cool....7-11 probably will still honor the refill.

Cool thread...I still have several of the monster cups from when I was a kid, and in decent condition. I have Swamp Creature, Ghost Riders, Roc, Cave Thing,  Minotaur,  Dragon, Giant Squid, and Troll. I would love to find the rest of them, I know I had almost all of them but as stated earlier, they are very fragile. Does anyone have a list of the complete collection?

What I don't understand that if everything is retro....Why can't Slurpee and Marvel and DC come together and make these again?  Not the ultra slick ones like the current Ironman 2 cups but go vintage baby!  These cups put Slurpee on the map.  They really need to do a commemorative line.  Also HOW can one own a 7-11 and NOT have a Slurpee machine.  There are 7-11's  ALL over Mexico and not one Slurpee machine.  Mexicans do not understand the Slurpee.  It's a tragedy!

Thankfully stopping for Slurpees (especially during the summer months) is a tradition with us.
We have a pretty good collection of the modern slurpee cups too...based on the new hot summer tentpole movies.

While my 1970's Monster Slurpee cups are a source of pride...and the marvel and DC cups make me weep with joyful memories, I do like the modern lenticular slurpee cups.

We have Superman Returns, GI Joe, Transformers, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man (1 & 2) Wolverine...
It's a fun tradition and Edward and I really love it.  It does harken back to the good old days, but just not on bikes.
Although I bet we could ride our bikes to the neighborhood 7-11.

Slurpee time!!!
Rest in Peace,

Isn't that what baseball catchers wear?

I drank a lot of Slurpees to get all those comic book cups when I was a kid.  Sold 'em a long time ago....

I remember the cups well! My neighbor friend across the street had more than I did so
I was a little jealous.

Clint Eastwood has a movie called 'The Gauntlet' in which there is a scene near
a 7/11. If you pay close attention, you can actually see part of a sign on the store
advertising the monster cups! Check it out.

Oh man seeing those Slurpie cups brings back memories for me driving my mom crazy to buy me a slurpie in the monster cup and then nagging her to get me a famous monster mag to go with it ;D

I am currently locating many of these 7-11 cups. I was lucky enough to have many of these cool cups aa kid.  7-11s were a plenty, in my neck of the woods.

The number of 7-11s in the Toronto-London area seems to have dropped in the last decade. The one close to my house closed five years ago so it's become more difficult for me to partake of Slurpees on a hot day.
