Of course, I first saw him on FURY...(smile)  A little girl, a horse AND Peter Graves?  Yummy!

....and a guy named Packy! I remember that because my nickname was Packy back then and I got a kick out of Packy Lambert on Fury.
As far as Mr. Graves is concerned, Has anybody mentioned the iconic: "Do you like gladiator movies?"...

I'll always remember Peter Graves as the host of the best (and scariest) Bigfoot documentary I've ever seen, "The Mysterious Monsters". I've also got a real soft spot for the MST3K episode of "The Beginning of the End", when they start and end every sentence with, "I'm Peter Graves."

"I'm Peter Graves and I'd like to enroll in the drama department at the University of Minnesota. I'm Peter Graves."

Peter Graves was great actor. I remember him in a couple of classics that I love "It Conquered the World" & "Stalag 17". R.I.P.

 Wow!  I just finished posting my condolences over today's death of Fess Parker and I find this thread!  I hadn't heard the sad news of Peter Grave's death til now...here we go again, a rash of cherished celebrities passing away within days of one another, I'm afraid.

Graves was never in the running for "Matt Dillon". The part was offered to John Wayne and he recommended Arness.

Regarding Matt Dillon/Gunsmoke: Did you know that William Conrad did the Dillon character on the original radio broadcasts? It was pretty rough for him when the role was recast for TV . . . but he was clearly not the best physical type.

Yea you are right but the OTRs are GREAT. He just had that epitome of that great in charge voice. Conrad was good on TV and one of the best on OTR ,PERIOD!
