Either regular vinegar or malt vinegar, particularly when you're having fish & chips. It's something Brits and Canadians do. I was surprised when I learned that it's not often done in the States.

I know of independent pet supply stores that do precisely that for cat litter as well as big bags of dog and cat food and bird seed. My sister used to get home delivery from a fellow out in Lambeth.

TPBM wishes there were more good fish & chip places in their immediate area.

Thanks for the info     They usually have malt vinegar for fish in the fried fish restaurants, but I always get baked fish so I won't have heartburn or coma later.  I will get some fries and try it . I'm not a big ketchup lover, I usually dip fries in mustard. 
I wish we had real fish restaurants around here .........and a large body of water too!

People who eschew cold weather are wimps. I'm going to move hundreds of miles further north if and when I ever retire!

TPBM wouldn't touch any of those cancer causing artificial sweeteners such as aspartame or saccharine.
