I remember mappings used in other forums, long ago, and I've not seen that technology for a while.  (Five?  No, probably closer to ten years.)  One of those plug-in's for various forum-software, probably fairly pricey.  I always wanted to incorporate a "click on/drill down" access to any marker's database to incorporate "what collections, what items in collections, etc." 

In the world of peer-to-peer (P2P) networks where everyone sets up a "shared folder" that all other qualified P2Pers can 'see', I thought this level of 'sharing' would be interesting - having lists of items that could be downloaded or viewed on-line (massive bandwidth, therefore). 

But there are threads here that offer a lot of that - it just takes time to wade thru so many and I'm always glad when someone else resurrects an old thread that contains a treasured topic.

I had been out of commission for a while. Now that I've returned I tried to post something but none of the 'tools' on the new topic page will work (bold, colors, sizing, img, etc.) I can answer posts with plain text but that's all I can do.  I recently got a new computer with Windows 10, I'm wondering if this has something to do with it?

I'm having the same problem and I've wondered if it didn't start when I DLed W10.

Anybody else out there with W10 having the same problem?

You can type in the codes, if you want, till the problem is fixed.

Great! I have windows 10 in a brand new computer and there's a problem every day!!!!  I just found out Edge doesn't support Java script, neither does Google Chrome. So what am I supposed to have now, 3 different browsers to use the internet??? Mind boggling!

Back to basics...I am trying to post a reply, and use your icon keys in the text.
I can not make any of them work.  Like the B for Bold, or U- Underline etc.
Every time I use these, and type my word between the brackets, and then check the Preview-it does not work.
All it shows it my reply, with the words in brackets...?

1.  First type what you want.
2.  Highlight the word or phrase.
3.  Then hit the key to get the effect for what you highlighted.

It's not you. They don't work for me, either. Well, it might be you. Could be the board isn't co-operating with your browser, or something. I'll see I terry can help us. I can post the codes and you can copy/paste them in, if you want.

The code, followed by the name in quotes. You have to remove the spaces. I had to add spaces or it would just post the icon.
