Hi.  I'm one of those dreaded "newbies", and need a little help.  I'm trying to post an avatar, I've loaded the photo to tinypic, and have copied and inserted the url numerous times, but no luck.  I know that the url needs to end in jpg, but none of the urls available on tinypic do that.  Any help would be appreciated.  (I know this question has be asked several times before here, but none of the replies solve my problem). Thanks in advance

Another newbie question.  I would like to set up my post so that someone can click on a word and email me.  In other words, I would like, say, the words "email me" to be the equivalent of clicking on my email address, without actually showing my email address.  Hope this makes sense.  Thanks

Here's the URL you want. It's also a good idea to make your avatar photos square, so the the image doesn't distort.

OK, I got my avatar going ok, finally, but still need help with the email thing.

I would like to set up my post so that someone can click on a word and email me.  

If you added your email in your profile, people can email you by clicking the icon under your avatar.

I really appreciate all the help given (and so quickly!).  I figured out that the problem with posting my avatar was that the block where you enter the url already has "http://" in it, and I was pasting my url after that, resulting in "http://http://".  Maybe a note should be added to make sure people understand how to correctly do that.  Again, the help here is fantastic.  By the way, hi MIke, didn't realize it was you.

Problem is you'd need different instructions for all the different places you can post photos.


Because of one one the settings on this board you can't put an email link in your message. You can put your mail addy in your post, but it won't link.

I would, but being on dial-up...kinda slows down everything else
