I always liked him, thought he was great playing Adam Cartwright.

I never watched Bonanza either, but I like Trapper John MD too.  Nice pics

He also gave a great guest performance on 'Man From U.N.C.L.E. ' as a villian.

He was a good man.  WHen you look at those early Bonanzas you can understand why he left.  A lot of them were sappy which is what he objected to.  He stood by his beliefs!!

Gasport

I recall an episode of the Odd Couple he guested on. I believe Oscar owed him a gambling debt that somehow led to Oscar and Felix performing at a square dance Pernell's character was having. A great actor in whatever role he chose...RIP Pernell.

Universal Steve

I always preferred Adam Cartwright over Candy. I didn't blame him for leaving. As soon as Candy showed up it seemed all the stories were about him with the Cartwrights mostly as props in the background. RIP

I enjoyed Bonanza very much, & I'm sorry to say I never new his connection to the Trapper John series as I never watched it. I read today that Roberts left Bonanza partly because he didn't think the scripts were believable: three 20-30yr old men always seeking permission from their father. Still, Bonanza was one of those legendary shows many of us grew up with. Thanks for the memories!

Another childhood hero bites the dust. :( Thanks for the memories and all the great episodes of everything. Tho I was never much of a Trapper John fan.
