Here are a few photos of the original vintage 20,000 Leagues movie tie-in items. There were a LOT of different things marketed for this movie around the world - games, puzzles, tie-in books, paperbacks, a Halloween costume of the Nemo Diver,  etc.
Try visiting my own Yahoo Group site on 20,000 Leagues; with a Huge amount of photos - from tie-in toys to dozens of foreign posters, presskits, behind-the-scenes pics, shots of the 1955 Disneyland Anaheim Exhibit of the movie sets, etc.

Very cool stuff thee.  I wish someone would release an affordable Nautilus model.

This grand adventure currently occupies my library as one in a handsome volume of selected works.
I re-read it every few years or so; the chapter where the Nautilus is trapped under polar ice still
leaves me gasping for breath!

I've watched the silent Universal production from 1916 but never Georges Melies' version from
nine years earlier. If even available for viewing, has anyone here ever seen it?

Naturally, Disney's 1954 classic left the deepest impression on me. I own it complete on VHS home video
plus a super-8 film digest which can't make it into this shot >

Most everything else I've collected on the title is print/paper media: 8x10 stills, articles, a poster,
a pressbook, and an early issue of The "E" Ticket magazine which features photos of the
walkthrough attraction at Disneyland >

Being an old timer, I actually toured this attraction as a pre-teen kid before it closed in 1966
and recall seeing all the screen-used sets and props exactly as pictured in the magazine.
On the wall of my monster room hangs a repro of its attraction poster which looks to have
been based in part on storyboard art from the movie >

Two old record albums turned up on my music shelf. The LP tells the entire story, adapted for
children, with sound effects from the movie >

I can't remember where I got this "box figurine", maybe at a Disneyana show. It's called "box"
because a portion of it lifts off like a lid to reveal a secret storage compartment >

If anything else surfaces from the deep, I'll post again.

Collecting! It's what I do!

While not directly related to 20,000 Leagues, some folks might find the following website interesting:

http://www.artofdiving.co.uk/2021/

I've been diving since 1976 and enjoy the vast artistic interpretations of what it's like to explore underwater. A lot of the material is pretty fanciful,  it still very cool!

That shooting game looks really good!  What year is it from?
I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity...

One addendum to my previous post- Some of the helmets you see in the movie actually worked (18 were functional). Unfortunately Disney had many of them destroyed in the 1980s leaving 8 known surviving helmets. Here's more info on the helmets and the "Disney Divers" who wore them:

I shot a ton of Super 8 footage of the Disney World Ride.  Glad I did, given it's demise.

Here is a website devoted to the ride.  Scroll down this page to see some amazing photos taken inside the ride as it was being dismantled.

And here is a major website devoted to the Disney film, with tons of info and rare photos, tips for modeling the Nautilus, etc.  (You do need to create an account to browse, but it's free and totally worth it.  There are also some industry pros that are members.)

Ages ago I had a chance to examine up close the 11' filming miniature of the Nautilus used in Disney's 1954 classic.  An amazing piece of work.  This was the miniature used for the underwater scenes of the sub (some shot "wet," others shot "dry," with the legendary Lydecker brothers on hand for the production).  A 22' miniature was used for most of the scenes of the Nautilus surfaced, so that it would not appear dwarfed by waves.  (And, of course, there was a full scale mock-up of the upper deck for the actors to perform on.)

I don't have any pix (it's currently anchored on the shelf above my desk at work), but one of my prize pieces is this 27" Nautilus from Japan.  It's been out of production for a while, so prices are all over the map when you find one. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/kaiyodo-mega-sofubi-soft-vinyl-1724087919

I also have those two miniature metal diving helmets, roughly in scale with the old 12" G.I. Joe, that Disney released to tie in with the film's 50th anniversary.

Thanks for sharing the site devoted to the old ride. I'd love to see your Super8 footage if you ever digitalize it and share on YouTube or other sites. I wasn't aware Disney had produced miniature diving helmets. I'll have to look for them. It'd be fun to have one on display next to my MV replica.

Rex, one of those diving helmets is the one worn by Captain Nemo, the other is the more common helmet worn by the bulk of the crew.  (There was a resin kit of the Nemo helmet sold by Monsters In Motion.  I suspect, having once had one, it was molded off the Disney miniature helmet...but I'd almost bet it was done without permission.)

Someone has one of the Disney Nemo helmets on eBay right now, but the price is nuts.  (At least, in my opinion.  I think they were around $50-something at the time of their release.  Obviously they've become more valuable, but I don't think the eBay listing is realistic.)  At any rate, here's a link to the listing, so that you (and others) can see what it looks like.  There are photos of the helmet from a couple of angles, as well as a photo of the COA that comes with it.  https://www.ebay.com/itm/284520022514?hash=item423eb701f2:g:U2gAAOSwWYRhh9xc

Thanks for the tip. I checked it out and it is cool! I'm a little hesitant to jump in ( pun intended) at the asking price, but loved seeing the pictures. Always loved when great sci-fi equipment actually worked and the "20,000 Leagues..." helmets fit that bill. btw seeing the mock up shipwrecks and Atlantis artifacts from the old Disney ride was a treat too. That's the stuff that got me diving in the first place!

Just wanted to add a couple of items I have to this thread. Here's a Dell comic from 1954...
