I really like the original. I am not  a fan of slasher type movies, but this movie was scary. It was done old school, where the viewer had to connect to dots. Not every part was shown like they do today, leaving nothing to the imagination.

Very true.  For a slasher movie, the original film has a very restrained and almost artsy approach. The viewer has to pay attention to absorb the little details.
Beautiful moving, shifting colors!

25 years of Terror 2 disc set is also a must have for Halloween fans. This is the only slasher franchise I really got into with Freddy a distant second.

Agreed. That's a very cool addition to any Halloween fan's collection.

No that is not a vote, it's not one of the ballots.

Maybe it should have been.

No it shouldnt have been, if ya dont like the movie, there would be no reason to even reply

If you included that option, you might get a better picture of what people prefer.  But then only 17 responded out of more than 1700 members.  Not a statistically significant number, so it really does not make any difference one way or another.

You're probably right,  its not worth finding out.

The original Halloween.

I always consider the trilogy 1, 2 and H2O. Season of the Witch is also in my collection (and I wished they went that route instead of 4,5,6)

Great minds think alike!!! I think the 1st Halloween is the be all, end all slasher flick. 2 was pretty good and I always thought H2O to be a continuation of those films...I really liked H20 very much.

I think Rob Zombie's Halloween was GREAT and Im counting the days to be in the theatre for H2.

As far as Season Of The Witch goes...I know I might catch hell for this..but I LOVE LOVE LOVE that movie. Good, fun memories watching it and I just love the "aestetics" of that film. I loved the masks, the movie poster itself, etc. I mean it got a little ridiculous at the end of the movie but it is one of my faves...perhaps a guilty pleasure!

You said it, I'm throwing Hell atcha  ;D, I hated Halloween 3, that movie made me mad.
I rented it back then, waiting to see a continuation from part 2, and...................M.....A...S....K...S....,WTH???

It would be great if the studios got it right this time. After Zombie's H2, let Myers be dead, and continue a new Halloween themed movie with a different story for futues releases under the Halloween title.

This is one reason why I liked Season of the Witch. It was filled with Halloween icons and imagery. From the masks (cool as hell), the poster, the damn song, everything says Halloween. Much like Doc's favorite, The Blair Witch Project. lol.

It was a pretty good 80's horror movie. Just think what they could have done with other Halloween themed movies. At least we wouldn't have had the "horror" of parts 4,5, and 6!

You just keep asking for trouble ;D
I'll say this, BWP's last 5 minutes was better than Halloween3:season of the witch.
which brings to mind, where the heck was a Witch in the movie?
Ya cant call it Season of the Witch, with no Witch in the movie.
That's like taking the Wizard out of The Wizard of Oz, then it would be The Land of Oz or The World of Oz.
Speaking of Wizard of Oz, he really wasn't a Wizard, he was just some Tech Nerd.

If ya are gonna call a movie by a certain title, then you better darn well have those monsters, people, whatever in the movie too.
Like "Nail Gun Massacre", there is a Nail Gun in the movie and it was a Massacre.
"Creature from Black Lagoon", the lagoon was really black was it, no it wasn't, and Black & White doesn't count.

I need to start a thread, that exploits this miscommunication of movies ;D

But Doc, there was talk of witchcraft and sacrifice at the end of H3, when Cochran was talking about the feast of Samhain and how "the hills ran red with blood". So in essence, Cochran was the head witch of the cult.

But I agree that the story could have expanded on the witchcraft angle and upgraded the movie.

Overall, I would have been a fan if they kept on with the Halloween themed movies i lieu of 4,5,6. Maybe, it will happen this time around? lol.

Do we really need a 3,4,5,6,etc

isnt one or two enough, if ya continue with it, it kinda goes overboard.

Look at Karate kid, we didnt need a 3 and 4

Lethal Weapon, we didnt need a 2,3,4,

Home alone, we did NOT need a 3 and 4

sometimes it's just good with one or two, and no more.

BaronLatos35

I agree Doc, multiple sequels drain away the story and characters.

I was talking about a different Halloween themed movie under the banner of "Halloween" like they were suppossed to have done in the first place. More like an anthology of Halloween movies, not Micheal Myers part 27 lol.

Dr.Teufel Geist

Do we really need more Halloween movies, arent there enuff already?
What we need is a good Sasquatch movie that goes berzerk and rips people a new one.
A Mothman movie with a Mothman Creature killing people.
What we need is Bruce Campbell as Ash vs. the Universal Monsters in "Monster Mayhem:Last Ghoul Standing"

BaronLatos35

You can never too many Halloween movies Doc! LOL.

I would go for a new Bigfoot movie. I'm surprised that genre hasn't been mined yet.

Ya know what would be great, Rob Zombie's "LEGEND OF THE SASQUATCH"
Alright Rob if ya are ever cruising by here, check it out, and make it happen ;D
