I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

Go Doc!  We have watched Bolt twice this week and I have the DVD (5 year old grandson), there's something about Bolt and Ratatouille that is strangely relaxing!                      I tried to watch "Nowhere" on IFC, but failed....

These two as a family yesterday:

Alice in Wonderland (1951)

Probably my favorite animated feature from Disney or tied with Peter Pan.  The movie is more a series of wonderfully animated vignettes, but they are beautifully done and the colors are spectacular.  Much of the look can be credited to the great Disney concept artist, Mary Blair.  She is most known for creating the look to the Small World ride.

also:

Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

My favorite of the Star Wars run.  What was interesting on this one is how different it looked on a blu-ray player and HD tv (we splurged this summer....the first tv we have bought during our 18 years of being married).  Some of the settings and materials they used were definitely exposed as plastic or wood looking and this is only from a player that up-scaled the dvd.  On an actually blu-ray disc (which I believe does not exist for this film) I wonder if this factor would be more pronounced?

My music is for Phoenix. Only she can sing it. Anyone else who tries, dies.
