RHAPSODY IN BLUE, with Robert Alda

I'm sorry to say that the movie stank, the writing stank and with the exception of Oscar Levant, the acting stank.
(Robert Alda was ok...but not as good as he would become)

The music, however, was DIVINE.  If this movie inspires one person to learn about the real George Gershwin....and really listen to his music, it makes up for all the rest.

THE SWIMMER (1968) starring Burt Lancaster - I really enjoyed this thought provoking (and rather sad) movie.  The whole cast is excellent.

BULLITT (1968) starring Steve McQueen - A fantastic cop flick I hadn't seen in years!

I had a 68 fastback Mustang like the one in Bullitt. Some teenaged chick driving against traffic to get to a break in the median rammed right into me. This was in 1982. I got $1500. The car was never the same.

I was telling some 20 year olds how awesome the car chase scene is in BULLITT - they were like, " Better than GONE IN 60 SECONDS? "  I then had to explain that THAT was a remake itself!  I finally gave up trying to explain.
