The first thing I wanted to be was a midget.
That didn't work out.
Then I wanted to be an archaeologist.

I actually wanted to be a Paleontologist when I was younger.  Most of my life I've been facinated with dinosaurs and prehistoric mammals.  The only things I've dug up, are friends like Scatter and Doc.  Lucky me.   ::)

At first I wanted to be James Cagney as Lon Chaney Sr..

I wanted to be the Guy who opened up his make-up kit and started to make-up himself as an East Indian Pirate. Then all the other actors would  come over and watch me transform myself.

"Make-up chong"
"Maaaaake-uuuup"
"Make-up chong"

Will anyone get that quote reference?

Then I discovered Famous Monster of Filmland.
After that I wanted to be Jack Pierce or John Chambers.

Then I bought the Famous Monster Make-up book.
After that I wanted to be Dick Smith. I was 12 then,
38 years later...... Now when I grow up I want to be Jack Pierce again

At five, like many here, it seems, I wanted to be an archaeologist.  I could spell it properly, too -- which freaked out my kindergarten teacher just a little.

A few months later, when asked again by the same teacher what we all wanted to be, I wrote down "Supperman."  Either I'd started reading too many comics, or really was hungry.
