I'm a big Marvel horror fan (tomb of dracula, Morbius, Werewolf by night, Son of Satan, Man-thing, Simon Garth Zombie, Living Mummy, Ghost Rider).

But in terms of contemporary books, I'm intrigued by DC's Justice League Dark. I'm not as familiar with DC's supernatural/horror titles, but I picked up a couple of JLD collected editions and they look promising.

You should try the DC showcase set of books although they are in black and white some of the artwork is breathtaking. Some of the titles are House of secrets, House of mystery, Ghosts and the Witching hour I can highly recommend these books.

Thanks tv horror! I look into that.

Good deals are still to be had on evilBay if you are patient, don't mind mid-grade books, and don't mind some duplicates to sell off. When I was putting together my House Of Mystery and House Of Secrets runs a few months ago I got some really good deals on nice early issues by bidding low on lots (I only collect the mystery titles after Joe Orlando took over). Most are in the VG-FN range with some in the VF range strictly graded, no junk. I got most of them for around 1/3 guide when it all averaged out. In some cases that's less than the cover price for new comics. I really appreciate reading an original comic with all the original ads, letters, and editorials. And the smell of that old comic newsprint is like the finest perfume. I have a few reprint books, but I greatly prefer the real deal, especially as cheap as some of those big auction lots go for.

I love Gorgo .. great artwork.  I like the first comic 'Return of Gorgo' the best of the above scans.

Charlton ran Gorgo's Revenge/Return of Gorgo concurrently with the Gorgo title in the 1962-64 period:

I have this House Of Mystery comic which they had Elvira hosting. It is issue #1 and I have never seen anymore with her in it. It was a Halloween special but looked as though it was going to continue.

It did. There were 11 issues and a x-mas special.

Good to know. I always check out comic shops for them and never can find any. I will keep looking around.

That's because they're cheap. As a result they get buried away in storage instead of being displayed.
