Hey Guys and Gals of the UMA,
I willpost my thoughts soon. I just got home to Florida and must slumber. But very quickly - I WAS NOT the Frankenstein Monster. As much as I would have loved that... it was Daniel Horne and also Joe Demuro in make-up by Ron Chamberlain.

I also want to say THANK YOU to all of the MonsterKIDS who opened up their hearts and memories to me. You are truly the best.

PS - Elizabeth Haney rulz!

...and I'll gladly add a third.

Ah, so it was Daniel Horne?  Michael, I'm looking forward to seeing your photos, especially those special ones that you previewed for us.  It was truly a pleasure to meet you and hope to meet up again some day.

Wow, this was my first Monster Bash and I am glad I went.  Forgive me as I too have a terrible memory.  It was a pleasure meeting all of you.  For never meeting any of you, I felt most welcomed.  Robert Taylor was the first UMA member that I met.  As I told him, he should do voice overs, what a great voice.  I also met Max and Jane, who were wonderful hosts.  I had dinner with Rob and also hung out with him on Saturday, it was cool just getting to know him.  I've felt like I've know you guys forever (Maybe I shoud, since I've been reading your posts since I joined I think in Dec of 2002).   J. Michael, I can't wait to see the stuff you photographed and taped.  Plus I still want to see that Jaws documentary.  Sara, Elizabeth, Miss Drac all seemed very nice.  I talked with two of our UMA Artists, Steven B (my 2nd time seeing him) and Daniel Horne.  With Daniel we ended up discussing hockey.  I had a quick discussion with Joe Moe (thanking him for taking care of Uncle Forry and about this place feeling like home and we were not alone.  The guests were accomodating and looked like they enjoyed being there.  So many other wonderful people that I know I'm forgetting and I apologize.

Anyways, sorry about the babbling, on to some pics and like Rob, I should have took more.

Another highlight of the Bash was Saturday night's one man show, Poe's THE TELL-TALE HEART performed by actor Zach Zito.  I've known Zach slightly for the past couple years, just to speak to in passing, but I missed his performance last year, sorry to say.   I'm sure glad I made it to this year's!  It was the exciting, thrilling, shocking!  Just what that midnight hour needed for a tale of murder and madness!  Congrats to Zach for a masterful job.  Next day at breakfast--about 8 or 9 of us at table--we were discussing how much we enjoyed the performance and Zach just then came in, so we got to tell him right then, up close and personal.  Glad that opportunity offered itself!

Another event I enjoyed was author Frank Dello Stritto's "Frankenstein Needs Passports, Too!", a talk about the official visas and other public records of the old monster stars!  Frank made this a fascinating lecture and he handed out photocopies of many of the original pieces of paperwork--great souvenirs for a monster fan!

Being a fan of Hammer films, I got a large charge from Yvonne Monlaur's q&a--she apologized for her poor command of the English language, but I'm tellin' you, that French accent of hers was pure champagne and honey.  Yvonne was one of the great beauties in films like BRIDES OF DRACULA and CIRCUS OF HORRORS and many non-genre movies, and she's still one of the most charming ladies around!

Got to talk to Gary Conway on Saturday about his artwork.  In the years since I WAS A TEENAGE FRANKENSTEIN and LAND OF THE GIANTS, his fortunes let him in other directions. He's a Calif. vineyard owner and does all the artwork--and has won awards--for the designing of the labels on his company's wine bottles.  He's done a lot of fine art, too.  I want a painting done by the  Teenage Frankenstein.  There's bound to be some wallspace here somewhere.

And speaking of art--Mark Redfield's cartoon-art was super.  I ran out of money or I'd have come home with one of his paintings.  There was a Chaney Sr. hunchback I liked, and a good one of the bundled "baby Edgar Allen Poe" being delivered across the night sky by a big raven.  Mark's mind works in wonderfully warped ways!

Aaaaaand, I bought one of David "The Rock" Nelson's latest dvds, his tribute to Forry and a tour of the Rock's own Dungeon!  Yee-hawwwww!  I'm a fan!

Had a good time this past weekend with films and celebs, but it's meeting up with friends that makes the real magic.  Thanks to Rob and Max and Jane and Jeff and Gitta and Mike and Tina and Gord and Eyrdie and Connie and Joe and Brian (michblk--first time to meet him in person, and right away a lifelong friend!) ...I had a good time everywhere I went!

I remember seeing other UMA Members such as Johnny Scareshock and Dennis Druktenis.  I'm sure I'll remember more.

Naw.  With the 'stache you got that 16 Blocks (2006) thing going....which I thought was a heck of a movie.

Did Linda's family donate her originals, or were those reproductions? Even in those photos they look stunning.
