I think we pretty much scared everyone else off with our lists!! I'll give it a few days...for now I'm gonna post some really interesting metal I have listining to!!

Satanic Warmaster - Vampiric Tyrant

In my very humble opinion this is by far the greatest and purest Black Metal I have heard since the huge Nordic movement in the early 90's.....Satanic Warmaster hails from Finland and is 2 guys. Cold, grim and simplistic...true old school Black Metal Assault...love this song and band had to share with fellow UMA headbangers.

Cool music in a cold dark under produced way. Vocals suck as do many BM bands. Reminds me of Old Man's Child.

No video but I have been CRANKING the hell out of this one several times a week. Really pisses off people yapping on their phones in traffic. chain_saw

Vader - Rise of the undead

BlackLagoon

Wicked..GREAT post on Vader!!! I had the pleasure of seeing them back in 2000 on the "Black To The Blind" tour..never, EVER in my LIFE was I so so crapping in my pants scared of a mosh pit before...literally it was almost "too much".

I saw them here in Jersey for something called The March Metal Meldown. The played the mainstage in the Asbury Park Convention Center which is a GIANT, brick, old marble, gothicy type place made in the 1920's. The walls are grey brick with green crap on them and they played in front of huge window that over looked the beach...it was f'ing freezing in there and a PERFECT scene for them to play.

I will never forget this: Out comes a giant, and I mean giant Polish flag...guitar feedback is making the place shake and Peter goes in very broken English "Horns up, everyone horns up.....maybe this is last time for your horns, maybe tonight...you die!"...and they BLASTED into the music, the pit exploded and because of that I will never forget seeing that band live..truly a powerhouse.

On a side note, my friends wife is from Poland and a few years ago he went there to visit her grandparents, I had him bring me back Polish copies of Litany and Reign Forever World....check out their covers of Mayhem's Freezing Moon, Destruction's Total Desaster and Judas Priest's Rapid Fire!!

Sorry to be so wordy but man you just brought back a huge metal memory!!!!

I'm a big fan of Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Rise Against, Lacuna Coil, Nightwish and Within Temptation! Great bands!

Dr.Teufel Geist

Hey a new face on the metal thread, so which singer do you prefer from Nightwish?

The original:Tara  or The new one: Her name escapes my mind at the moment

smellslikejustin

I actually prefer Annette (I think that's her name). Tarja was good but her voice was a bit too operatic for me. Yourself?

I take Tarja all the way. That is the epitomy of goth metal. Beauty and the beast style vocals. Life and spirirt/death and misery-reality.

Dr.Teufel Geist

I like Tarja as well, her voice is so Haunting, not to mention, it's good D&D music.

Not into D&D myself anymore but I always thought the soundtrack for Conan was great for that.

Yep, I agree, we use Conan:the Barbarian SDTRK, Braveheart SDTRK, Judas Priest:Painkiller, Legend SDTRK, Nightwish, Dio:Magica, and
The Sword.

BlackLagoon

I played D&D briefly back in junior high. Even after that I used to sometimes buy books and stuff just because I dug the artwork so damn much.

If you want something that might ad to the mood for your D&D'ing...try this. Mortiis: The Stargate. Mortiis is actually the very 1st bass player for Emperor going waaaay back to the Wrath Of The Tyrant days. He split and has done alot of really weird stuff. The Stargate is basically just about an hr of medievel sounding music that was all done electronically. There is a book that came with it about kids in a village with trolls and demons and some crap.

Honestly when I got it I thought I was gonna hear some "blasphemous black metal" and I was like wtf? This sounds like Im at a renesciance fair!!...You might like it...he also dressed up as a troll and looks somewhat ridiculous.
