"Full Moon High's" Col. William P. Walker and the narrator of "Dementia" (a/k/a "Daughter Of Horror") has passed at 86. Evidently, he was known better for other gigs he did in his lifetime. May he find peace.

Zacherley often speaks of how Ed used to introduce the nightly movie on the same set Zach would soon occupy when he first started hosting Shock Theater as Roland out of Philly in 1958.  RIP Ed.....

Toy Ranch

I moved some posts into their own thread so this may continue as a memorial.

RIP Ed McMahon

Anyone that worked as a carnival barker during his life is a celebrity in my book.  RIP Edward.

Eddie, we hardly  knew ye................

Wicked Lester

Big Ed was NOT a movie star but IMO is close to an icon when it comes to 60s to early 90s TV celebrities. Two generations grew up with him in many ways and shapes. I LOVED the banter between him and Mr Carson. And above all He had more class and talent than a dozen of todays "so called" TV celebs who have it handed to them. He got his status the old fashioned way.
He EEAARNED it.
R.I.P Ed.

Many fond memories as a young man staying up late watching the Tonight Show. Johnny and Ed were a powerful team. And funny too. Very funny. Iconic to say the least. And then there was the Jerry Lewis telethon. Great, great memories.

R.I.P. Ed McMahon.
The Famous Monster of Mpls.  Sayer of the law.

I enjoyed many nights watching Johnny and Ed on the Tonight Show.
Ed will be missed.

It's always sad to see people (from the reel & real world) we grew up with pass into memory, but what great memories they are!

Monster Bob

Considering a hat gets tipped to every Johnny and Jane come lately that was ever in a Universal monster film when then kick the casket, a guy of Ed's caliber and legendary status deserves mention here too. if for nothing else 'Heeeeere's Johnny', of course used in THE SHINING, one of the most famous lines in modern horror films.  I mean, c'mon, we honor the broad that played the nanny of the Wolfman's girlfriend...

Good night, Ed.  :'(

FACTO2

Ed was great.  The perfect straight man for Johnny.  Years of enjoyment and entertainment. He will be missed.

Wonderful bit at the end of Conan O'Brien's Tonight Show this evening. They showed a clip from Conan's original Late Night show where Ed was a guest. He and Andy Richter poured him a glass of Budweiser and he toasted them both saying; ''If i never see you again, good luck!" and chugged the contents in one gulp as the studio audience cheered...very moving.
