Dylan - "Desolation Row" ...brilliant!

I wanted to press the-LIKE- button. However, I am not a Bob Dylan. My best friend tried to turn-me-on to Dylan''s music.
Although Dylan is a great song writer and I respect him
as a musician, I just cannot listen to the man's music.

I know many who feel that way. I feel the same way about "liking" Kiss when you mention them (I really only kinda liked their first album with "Strutter"). That's fine, we agree on soo much more. I think it may be an age thing, since I'm older. That's too bad, he has the very best song catalog in the history of music. Also, his influence is undeniable. Lou Reed, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Strummer, etc. owe a lot to Bob. I recently saw a film of his '66 tour. He was as punk as Johnny Rotten, battling an audience that didn't want to hear his electric set. After the first few boos, he turned to the drummer and said "Play it LOUD". No punk has ever had the courage or talent of Mr Zimmerman (and I love punk).

There so many people, Rock and Roll fanatics who are not into KISS. I totally understand. They are a band not for Everyone.
As far as Dylan being an influence, I get it.
Lou Reed and Joe Strummer are bad-ass musicians, and I love their music. I must admit, I have a hatred towards Springsteen and his music. Another artist that I tried to listen to and could not
relate to. It may be because of the Blue-Collar lyrics.

On the other hand, Lou Reed, Joe Strummer and Elvis Costello are fantastic musicians  and song-writers.

Wow, I didn't know you liked Elvis Costello. Great writer/musician! If I ever remarry, it will be in front of an Elvis Costello impersonator (not likely to happen).

Great, drunken sing-along to Dylan song closes "Murder Ballads" (featuring Shane MacGowan, P.J. Harvey, Kylie Minogue, etc.).
