I was raised in a shambled old house, with cobwebs, dark hallways, and holes in the ceiling and walls. We had a wood stove and in one room you could hear the carpenter bees in the walls. We had snakes crawling under the house. There were two ruined houses within sight. A old log cabin, and a small one room house my aunt lived in before she died. The place was actually haunted. There was a beaten-up dusty old upright piano in the living room, and a wood stove.  I'd pick the munsters house. We didn't have running water in the house till I was nine and didn't have a telephone either until then.

Not only that, but I tried to get something out of the closet, and something pulled it back in and growled at me. I managed to get the item- a leather jacket- and it had four long shreds down it.

Definitely the Munsters! As awesome as John Astin was, and as awesome as Carolyn Jones looked (rowr!), I would feel more comfortable with the working-class Munsters. Plus, the Munsters were only "monsters" as defined by the rest of the community-they were actually pretty awesome to each other. The Addams family could be pretty evil about some things!
Supernatural, perhaps; baloney, perhaps not.

I'm sticking to with living with the Addams, if for no other reason because they look like they bathe regularly.

The Munsters live in their own filth (and are dead), making them stinky Munsterbillies.

I hate to break it to you people, but you can always CLEAN the house after you move in. The OP asked which HOUSE you'd rather live IN, not what family you'd rather live WITH. The house will be yours, and you can hire a company to clean it. Then you can have a CLEAN trap-door staircase, and a CLEAN stone basement lab, and a CLEAN coffin phonebooth.

Still going with the Addams Mansion, I love gothic Victorian architecture.  The Addams Mansion is to die for.

Living in an Addams Family style victorian mansion has been a lifelong dream.
The Munsters house, while cool, isn't really that amazing. It continues to be used on TV today, repainted, and most people don't even notice it.

By the way, Dover Books has some great books with floorplans /pix of victorian homes. I have a pal who wanted to make a victorian looking modern home and he brought them to his architect.

Tough call. I'm leaning to the Addams family house for style but, if the Munsters property comes with the Koach and Drag-u-la...

Heck with it! This is just a mental exercise. I'll just take both!!!
