Those are some cool glasses!  Congrats on a great find!  I used to have a different set of monster glasses that came out in the early eighties I think, and I got them at Spencers in the mall.  I don't know what they are actually called but I would love to get them again.  I see them on Ebay sometimes but are too high priced!  There was a Dracula, Wolfman, Frankenstein, Mummy,Creature from the Black Lagoon, and the Mutant from This Island Earth.
Long live the UMA!

I remember seeing the Spencers glasses-cups. You're right. Way too high-priced on the auction-block. The Metaluna and Creature are my fave. I think the Metaluna cup was red? Those cups seem to be very scarce. Why is that? Very cool collectible.

I'd like to get those 80s UniMonster glasses.  I don't think I've even seen one in person.  Just on ebay.

There's also a set of crypto monster "big gulp" cups that 7-Eleven put out in the late 70s, if I have my timeframe correct.  Again, I've only seen these online.  There was a Yeti, Nessie, and so on.  I'm not sure how many are in the set.  I'd buy the whole set at one time if someone was in the mood to sell them.  It would probably take forever to try to build the set one cup at a time.

Brian,

I believe that he did.  I think there's a thread buried around here somewhere.  The header card says four piece set although you can only see the top one in that picture.

I saw a complete set of these at a really low price (like $40.00 or something like that) at the Chicago Comic Con some ten years ago -- the one year I was so broke, I couldn't spend a dime at the show....

Yes, Richard made a complete set of the four placemats.

Thanks Rob and Andy.  I would love a set of them!

That placemat set is one of my favorite items in my collection.  It makes me happy every time I see it.

Congrats on scoring a set of the drinking glasses. Now you'll need to get yourself a set of the Anchor Hocking place mats to go with your drinking glasses.

BUT .. before you go looking ... allow me to pull the rug out from underneath and tell you they were never made. Not officially anyways.

The only cup that i own from 7-11, is a Tomb of DRACULA cup. I think dated 1974. It was part of the Marvel comics super hero set.

A Mummy glass has long been rumored to be part of this set (which has no particular name), but no one has ever come up with one, none have ever been for sale, nor have any any photos of it or even a prototype been posted or printed in my experience or to the knowledge of any monster and or glass collectors I know of. That's not to say that it does not exist, just that if it does, no one has caught one. Will you tell us anything you remember about it? Thanks.

Also, if anyone else has any info about it, please chime in.

PARTY! PARTY! PARTY!

Another brilliant photo! I gotta hand it to you Chris. When it comes to monster portraits and composites, your stuff ranks right up there at the top! I smile every time I see your handy work.

A set of AH glasses just finished tonight on ebay.  Anybody here win one?  The Mummy ended with reserve not met.  Creature ended at $50.  I didn't see what happened to Frank and WM, but all four were listed.
