It's up to a grand. I think I'll bid $1,001 on it, just so I can say I did.

I don't want to bid if I'm not serious about winning, at least not on this piece.  There is no chance that this is going to go for "cheap."  To really be in the running, someone would have to bid $2,500 or more.

It is generally considered bad netiquette to post live auctions, but we have no policy against it.  And I would not want to see us create such a policy.  In this case, it's something of a big deal for an AHI Creature squirt gun to be offered for sale, so I don't see the harm in posting it.

I don't see any harm in this one either.  Not like it's misslisted and I was going to get a deal on it.

Hey, It's Dave V here. I would like to clear something up about this Squirtgun that Frankenkid is auctioning off. This was mine previously, and I'd like it to be known that THIS WAS NEVER BROKEN AND REPAIRED!! Not sure how this story has been associated with this piece, but I assure you that it is not true. I wanted to post this so any potential bidders would know that this is not a repaired piece of crap. The Kidd bought all of my AHI squirtguns, and is an honest seller, and buyer.

actually, I'm even bidding on it as we speak.

I had this as a kid in the 70s! For years, I have been trying to find a picture of it and more info! PLEASE tell me all about this Creature action figure. What is AHI???

Thanks

Al

AHI is Azrak-Hamway International.  They were a prominent toy company during the 1970s.  They produced a variety of licensed Universal Monsters toys, including action figures, rubber jiggler figures, rubber and wire bendies, sparking windup walkers, squirt guns, flashlights and other stuff.  The AHI toys are very popular with monster collectors because they struck just the right balance between serious character likenesses and crude charm.  They looked cool and classic, but they were still cheap, kiddie toys.  The package artwork also contributes to their appeal.  If you were a monster fan growing up in the 1970s, these were probably your favorite toys.

[/quoteRay, I wish I could find the wind-up Creature in the package. The wind-up just looks cool.  ;D

It really is a nice piece. But, too much for me......and with one minute to go. ;D

I merged two threads about the AHI Creature squirt gun.  I thought I lost Dave's post in the process, but I see it has been merged into this thread, a few posts above.

About the squirt gun, it finished at $2,285.  I thought it might hit $2,500, but I figured it would finish somewhere in that ballpark.

I figures ANYTHING was possible, even me getting it for $1500. Not likely of course, but possible. Good price though. Love to know who got it.
