1st of all...I am never drinking again. Having said that I am recovering from a 4th of July bash at my friend/business partners house. Drank WAY too much beer, ate very little during the day, breaking away from beer just to play volleyball...which got aggressive enough to have the women go back onto the deck and let the guys finish...and with that my right hand is swollen and my thumb is sprained. After the 10 other friends left, me and 2 other of my close buddies found ourselves in a stooper eating everything that was left over around the chiminea at about 2 AM.

Today I went back over his house to get my cd's and stuff (I passed out and left at 5:30 in the mornng) and noticed his foot was all burned looking....apparently at some point he held a roman candle the wrong way while wearing flip flops........this was indeed a "party".

Now more then 20 hrs later I still feel I got run down by an elephant stampede as Im watching baseball highlights and playing around here on the UMA......looking foward to going to bed early and hopefully not getting any picture messages of me doing ridiculous things yesterday!

Made a big ol' bowl of tabouli--a week's worth--and used my fresh Italian parsley from the garden.  Tastes great!  Went to the bank, then home to do some pruning.  I need a new set of hand pruners.  Gotta get to the hardware store sometime this week--maybe I'll have time on Thurs.   A couple nice emails from Sara Karloff--sent her some copper ore samples and other stuff.  She said she never thought she'd be so pleased to get a box of rocks!  Got all the autographs delivered (that I got for folks who weren't able to go to the Bash) and have now heard back from everyone.  Glad you liked 'em, guys!

Today, nothing yet.

Yesterday really a humdrum day.  Went shopping, did laundry.  But it was warm enough to swim so I took a dip in the lake.

Hey BlackLagoon, speaking of injuries, how's your shoulder holding up?

Hey Primate, thanks for asking. It's not 100%..I mean I still get pain here and there but its a heck of a lot better then it was. I'm going to the gym and lifting moderate weight, and my work is 90% manual labor...so far so good. I can do a close grip bench for tri's at a light to medium weight...but a regular bench using regular width....forget it. It isnt worth how it will feel the next day. I'm doing alot of flys with dumbells and cables and stuff...sometimes I'll use that hammerstrength seated thing. I recently talked to a few other lifters that had it done and they said just be patient, go light...before a year is up you'll be back on the bench....and those guys DWARF me so if its good enough for them...I'll just take their advice!

Hey BlackLagoon, HammerStrength machines are pretty good. They feel different at first, but you can feel the muscle working., recommended.

Yeah, I never really dug em too much because of the restricted motion, I really just stuck to free weights.....but then again if I had restricted motion in the first place my shoulder probably wouldnt have come apart lol.

If it were up to me, power rack #1..I love to squat, and I use it for straight bar curls...incline, decline and flat bench...a few cables, dumbells and a few leg machines......actually now, I take my wrist wraps and wrap it thru the top slot on the 45 lb plate...1 in each hand then I walk the perimeter of the gym and sprint up the steps to the cardio deck then back down. Feel it in my traps, my legs, good cardio etc.

This is turning into the golds gym thread lol.

I played Monopoly with my hubby and our son.  It's the first time since my childhood that we went by the actual rules.  It was fun.

When my sister, brother, and I played it when we were little, my sister and I would cheat.  Poor Scott was always on the losing end.  Shame on me -  :-[

I got up at 8am and mowed the yards, and then we went to the meat market and when we came back out to the car, it was dead.
Had to call my sister, to come get us, and on the way home, called the tow truck service and had them haul it to the local mechanic.
Hopefully it will be easy to fix, and wont cost much to do so.
What a wonderful day :'(

I've been a little low on energy here of late, and my system acting odd, making it hard to string words together well, or type very accurately, or just stay awake.  Hopefully that has settled down.

For the 4th I popped over to visit my sci-fi buddies for a while for the monthly meet & geek, and then the hubby and I went over to my Mom's condo (which is on the 15th floor) to watch fireworks.  Sunday we were at a neighbor's picnic.

My mom had an auto accident at the end of June, she is healing and car is being repaired, so I am still driving her places when she needs to go somewhere-- doctor appointments (one last week, one tomorrow) and took her on a road trip to Bloomington/Normal to visit her old college town and see a group of friends for a mini-reunion luncheon.

Husband and I are still working our way through new Dr. Who DVDs, when we have a chance, which is fun-- we are both really enjoying David Tennant as the Doctor.

The weather has been downright odd-- very rainy and cool at times.  In the last week seven days we've lit the fireplace twice, to take the damp and chill out of the air.  (The kitties love that.)

Did double shifts 2 days in a row, 4.5 hours of sleep a night. I'm currently fighting off the sandman as I check in on my beloved monster family. Jordan and I finished mowing the lawn after I got home, we went to 7-11 for a couple of cold sodas, jumped in the pool and played for an hour or so. I was human fodder for the Wolfman and the Terminator, being thrashed within an inch of my worthless life in the water.

After typing this I'm going to take a nap, then I'm going to go to the library and stock up on books and hopefully some horror videos, Charlie Chaplin vids, and some CDS.

Then with any luck, I'll have a chance to flop on the sofa with my sweetie and watch a flick before crashing.
We're all here because we're not all there.

So the mechanic called today and said the Starter needs replacing, oh boy.
It will only cost around $500, and then theres also the towing charge, which who knows how much that will be.
Right now sitting at home carless, the back-up car is also broke down, has been for 3 months.

I went to work then stopped for a cool swim on the way home. I swim and bike for exercise.  Now enjoying a cup of coffee and chatting with wifey-poo and daughter Anna. It's Friday HURRAY!!!! Going to try and watch a movie tonight. Everyone have a great weekend

Went down to the Korean restaurant and helped the owners' daughter with some research materials she needed to work on her summer reading 'A.P. English' work.  Her dad, seriously diabetic, is having vision problems, getting laser work done Monday.  His health problems are defiinitely one of those "bad things happening to good people" things.  Had lunch there (fried mandu) and talked to him for a while.  Went to hardware store--when I was a kid, it was the 5 and Dime, now for me it's the hardware store!--got a new hand pruner, ratchet-type, and then home to spray weed killer.  Watching Karloff ARSENIC AND OLD LACE later tonight.
