Today was my first session of Bulldog Bootcamp fitness training . . . let's just say I didn't puke my guts out and leave it at that.

We have to wait until they get together enough people for a tour. Stupid me, I figured since I PAID FOR the relocation, preservation, and land upon which Yesteryear Village stands, I would have some sort of public access that didn't depend upon waiting for other folks to decide to come out. Especially since the REST of the freaking Fairgrounds are open DAILY and MAKING MONEY.

Idiots. So, we have to wait until we can tag onto another tour. We're looking at the first week of July.

You could always sneak in, but I would never suggest that, cause that would be" wrong".

LOL!! Don't think I didn't look for a way in. Too much security. I'm too pretty for prison.

Old high school/college buddy dropped in & we had a good visit.  He and his wife are going to Europe next week and he hopes to visit as many mummies as possible in various museums there--France, of course, has tons of Egyptian stuff, and that's on his list.  He and I are going to try to catch lunch tomorrow--maybe Chinese, which would be a change for me since I usually have Korean (and lately, Greek).  Planning to watch the Karloff ARSENIC AND OLD LACE and BENNY AND JOON in the next day or two.  Too many dvds and tapes, and not enough time, eh?

Plans changed, and instead I went and met Cuz Sara at Kim's Korean for lunch--bulgogi soup, which is some of the best beef goodness in this world!  Stopped at a favorite local nursery and found a plant I've wanted for the past 3 yrs--growing in the gravel of one of their gardens.  They said dig up all you want, it's yours!  So I came home happy as a clam at high tide with a dozen Nicotiana sylvestris--just shows that we all have different things that make us happy.  Whatever blows your hair back!  Watching BENNY & JOON this evening.

I went to the gym to do shoulders early in the AM and man, I felt like garbage allllll day. Even when I was there I just felt fatigued and achey, now at 11 pm I'm starting to feel better. Other then that I did a ton of paperwork, and I mean a ton. Did an estimate for a possible job comming up, chatted with my uncle over the phone and ran to Sports Authority- once again I lost my neck pad for doing squats and had to buy another.

Tomorrow I promise to post something a bit more colorfull :)

Yesterday was the last day of school for the kids (the first and last days are always the best). There was a cook out, games, family members and an overall great community atmosphere.

After the staff party, I went home, poured a double shot of 1738 Remy' on the rocks (left over from my birthday) and pulled a double feature:

- Scars of Dracula
- The Ghost of Frankenstein

Picked up my wife later, had some more drinks, ate dinner and enjoyed the evening together. A great day.

Start my summer job on Monday.

Went with my 18 year old daughter today to open her own checking account.  Then we went to FYE, where I picked up BLACKULA & ONE MILLION YEARS BC (with Raquel) for a total of $17.00.  Then she drove us (I'm restricted from driving for a couple of weeks for medical reasons) to Jiffy Lube for an oil change.  I was told I had oil in my radiator, so they couldn't do the change!  Suspecting a gasket problem (please, please, not the head), took the batmobile to Tuffy's to get an estimate.  $ 953.00!  Water pump was shot, too!  At least, the head gasket was ok, but the low-end one was not.  The money tree in our backyard was cut down a couple of weeks ago, so...  for the time being, I'm gonna drink a few ice cold ones and watch a neat double feature tonight!

Had my elderly friends (83 and 88) Kary & Wib over this afternoon for a visit--and to show them a movie I knew they'd get a kick out of, SONG O' MY HEART with John McCormack (1930).  Then took them to Kim's Korean for supper, and sent them home with extra fried rice and a few groceries I picked up as a treat.  Finances are especially rough for them this month.  We all enjoyed the day a lot.  And I have some left over fried rice for myself, too!

I had a nice lunch today with Creepy Jeff... and the weather even cooperated enough that we could sit outdoors, which made it that much more enjoyable.

The Linda 'Meek' Miller art exhibit is in the back of my truck, and will be coming to WonderFest.  It's great that more people are going to be have the opportunity to see her wonderful work!

Drove with my Mom to take her car to the auto repair shop to have some things checked out, and then went to dinner to celebrate her birthday (which was the 16th).

And still got my hour exercise walk in today. :)

A good day, when some stuff got done.  Went to the bank, robbed Peter to pay Paul--paid Paul (in the form of the state property taxes)--and then went to have lunch at the Greek restaurant with Cuz Sara.  Gyro, spanikopita, and deep fried cauliflower.  Great lunch.  Then home to play in the mulch again, and in the evening the guy who does framing and picture-hanging came and we finished the wall above the piano, which means a lot to me as it incorporates some of my Forry stuff.  Good to have this much done as I've been waiting to get this wall finished for a couple months  now.  Bust of warrior on the left end of the piano was Forry's, and the Jolson picture above that, and the Chinese mask above that.  And maybe of interest to UMA folks, the painting to the right, above the feathers, was from Vincent Price's estate.
